Welcome to the first LIVE broadcast of NY Internet Hockey Radio!
I'm aware there was an issue on the archive of this show resulting in skipping & cracking of the audio playback. While this issue did not affect the live stream of the radio show, it has been corrected for future shows so that all playback results in the same clarity as the live show.

Tomorrow night, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 9 PM will be the famed NYC teacher taking on the NYC DOE of education, Francesco Portelos
Francesco first made news when as a representive on his school's, PS 49 in Staten Island, SBLT (School Based Leadership Team) he used his constitutional right to inquire about his school's finances. What he found, financial improprieties by his principal, has put him on a Kafkaesque odyssey sitting in the Rubber Room.

Tim Tebow is a very much talked about figure - not just in football, but in the entire world of sports. On this edition of Sports In the Spirit, we focus on what some of his New York Jets teammates have said about him, what the Bible has to say to his anonymous detractors, and whether or not Tebow is getting a raw deal in New York. Scriptural reference: John 8:2-7
Tomorrow night, Thursday October 17, 2013 we are joined by two guests.
The first guest is retired UFT Chapter Leader Stephanie Flunory joins us to discuss the upheavel at PS 29 in College Point, Queens.
Our second guest is world reknowned educator Shaun Johnson of @thechalkface fame to discuss what measures can be taken locally against Common Core, high stakes testing, and getting back control of our children's education
(share) We're taking your JETS FAITHFUL calls Tuesday night at 7PM/ET at (646) 478-4216 to discuss the Cincinnati Bengals 49-9 thrashing of the New York Jets on Sunday.
Marvin Jones caught 4 of 5 Andy Dalton career high touchdown passes for Cincinnati on Sunday. It was a record breaking team performance for both players, Dalton's 5 TD's are the most thrown on the Jets since Dan Marino did it in 1988.
The Jets couldn't break their pattern of win one - lose one, and this was their most lopsided defeat since a 45-3 loss to New England in 2010.
Top 10 rookie draft pick Dee Milliner was benched for the second time this year, Quarterback Geno Smith was 20/30 for 159 yards, and was picked off twice - both were returned for touchdowns.

We're taking your Jets Faithful calls Tuesday night at 7PM/ET at (646) 478-4216 to talk about the Jets overtime victory over the Patriots 30-27 on Sunday.
After a new rule that gave New England a penalty, and Nick Folk another chance, he booted a 42-yard field goal with 5:07 left in overtime. Folk was wide left on on a 56-yarder, but the miss was negated by a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty on the Patriots Nick Jones that had never been called before in an NFL game.
Geno Smith threw a touchdown pass to Jeremy Kerley and ran for another as the Jets beat Tom Brady and the Patriots, who tied the game at 27 with 16 seconds left in regulation. New England had defeated New York in six straight regular season games, and saw its 12 game winning streak against AFC East opponents end.
