This evening we're joined by members (JD Thornburg, Hunter Huss, Tommy Snodgrass and crew chief Terry Lansdell) of the Concord, NC based 8 person relay Team FOG!
FOG Racing of Concord, NC competed in the 2014 Race Across America (RAAM) to raise money and awareness for the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. Known as the “world’s toughest bicycle race,” RAAM will set more than 250 competitors on a 3,000-mile route stretching from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic Coast. Team FOG will compete as an eight man team and race continuously day and night, on their own power expecting to complete the journey in roughly six days.
RAAM is the ultimate test of strength and determination. But every day, Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte helps children heal faster because they’re surrounded by their families. The goal of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is to improve the health and well-being of nearly 3.7 million children worldwide every year – and it has indeed made a global impact. And while its approach is to think globally, RMHC acts locally by tailoring programs and services that address the most urgent needs of each community it serves. With a network of local chapters, like the one here in Charlotte, its core programs can be found in 52 countries and regions around the globe.
FOG Racing is a group of avid cyclists who believe strongly in the Ronald McDonald House mission. These courageous adventurers will brave heat, wind, thunderstorms, altitude, the dark of night, fatigue and sleep deprivation, and cross several major mountain ranges to raise awareness and money in support of this mission.
Dreamers Radio is pleased to welcome Gracie Wilson, author of the Lonely Girl series!
Taken from Gracie Wilson's Amazon page:
"Look for her in the trees enjoying nature's wonders, traveling to see the latest animal conservations, or at aquariums all around the world. This girl loves nature and all animals. She has many pets and is always adding new editions. The more the merrier in her mind. Sitting under the shade reading a book, letting the world around her pass by, while she is safe in her bubble of imagination. Well that is where she'd love to stay. She is a softball player, can be talked into the occasional Karaoke and loves going out to dance. She is a first generation Canadian living in Ontario. Her family is from Scotland, so finding her in the hot sun for very long is unlikely, but give her rain and thunderstorms and she's golden."
Her book, The Lonely Girl, is available on Amazon now. So grab a copy and connect with her for future updates below!

From time to time, I see this issue raised and before the dust settles, feelings are hurt, people feel misunderstood and nothing is resolved. However, suppose to issue is not about blood quantum, but something more important and larger than this, which doesn't leave any room to point fingers at another since it calls into question, what are we as individuals doing about this. It seems the puppet masters behind the curtains of the federal government has played this hand well which only serve to create divisions. Especially at a time when we need to come together. This came up in a meeting today, and could be a critical hurdle in discussions around the country as to who is an Indian or Native. If this is what stops us from making progress, then it is time we exmine this issue and see if it how we should look at it, or is there another way that could be effective in bring about healing. Here's a blog that I wrote a few years ago related to this issue: http://eaglemanz.blogspot.com/2012/04/defining-our-confiscated-identities.html
