Throwing a Fabulous Wedding on a Budget

    in Women

Did you know that December marks the season for engagements? Most engagements happen this time of year. Who knew? I actually got engaged (many moons ago in Dec as well hmm). Well congratulations to all those looking forward to a new life together. However, you have a big planning task ahead. Given the recent survey by the Knot.com, the average wedding cost in 2013 was $30K.  I reached out to friend of the Divas -Kim Moss of Black Bag Productions for some help slashing that figure without sacrificing quality.

A Lesson In Throwing A Very Large Fit

    in Politics

Our leaders are persistent, their goal unfounded in American value. What are we to do? For the last few weeks we have seen the progressive left spin completely out of control and the worst thing is, some on the right are starting to go along with the plan. From the gun grab in Connecticut after the Sandy Hook shooting, to the protests and riots over the recent police shootings of Mike Brown and Eric Garner, not to mention the treasonous action of the Democrats to push for the release of details over the interrogations of America's enemies; things are getting completely out of hand! Well, I think America has had enough of this foolishness!

We will examine these latest issues in detail with unequivocal honesty. Where there is naivety and  excuses, there is ruin. We cannot sit idly by and watch this country burn as it is! It is the belief of this program that America, as it was founded, is now dead BUT, that doesn't mean that adding insult to injury is acceptable. Those who helped to destroy our nation are not let off the hook simply because they succeeded. They will pay and the light of truth will shine in their faces, along with all that followed blindly along!

Still Punchin': Voices Against the Grain 1- Year Anniversary

    in Christianity

Joy! Wednesday, May 28, 2014 marks the one-year anniversary of the Voices Against the Grain media ministry. For one year together, we've been punchin' the enemy as we are "Advancing God's Kingdom in a 'do your own thing' society" and empowering others in Christ Jesus. Satan hates an empowered Saint! On Wednesday's episode, VATG devotional writers Ana Martinez, Herbert Bowen, Jr., and Jason Alexandre along with VATG creator and show host, Nicole D. Hayes will discuss: how to operate in a world that says "yes" when God says "no" or "wait," bending toward God's will in a world that says "make your OWN plans," how God restores what's been broken or stolen, and God's design for relationships in a world that counterfeits the gift of marriage and sex. Join us for this fruitful and reflective conversation! (Episode pre-recorded)

Starting and Doing Business God's Way

    in Christianity

Do you desire to start a business? Already operate a business? If you answered "yes" to either question, how does God desire that Christians construct and conduct business? We live in a culture that doesn't necessarily factor God into its business plans. Join us for a conversation with Amos Johnson Jr., PhD., founder of the God Idea Lab and his ministry, Church for Entrepreneurs. The God Idea Lab helps Christians prepare their God-given idea for business, or gives a fresh restart for those in business.Through his ministry, Amos trains entrepreneurs in God's Word to help them operate in faith to conquer the mountain of their God-given entrepreneurial calling. We'll discuss God's way of starting and doing business and why faith is essential on this joyful yet conceivably trepidatious journey. Have questions for Amos? Email questions in advance to voicesagainstthegrain@gmail.com or call our studio line (347) 327-9227.

In just a few minutes, we are going to find out why fats, not carbs, are essential for mental sharpness!  And, we’ll ask Dr. Perlmutter to share some of the 150 delicious nutritious recipes found in Dr. Perlmutter’s newly released The Grain Brain Cookbook.  A few caught my eye: Eggs Benedict with Zucchini Pancakes, Almond Crusted Chicken Strips, Grilled Parmesan Tomatoes, Grilled Spiced Flank Steak, and Lemon Souffle Pudding!

Drop Your Sugar Impact with JJ Virgin

    in Health

If you feel like you’re doing everything right but you are struggling with energy, cravings and just can’t seem to lose the weight, hidden sugar may be the culprit. Sugar is the single biggest landmine when it comes to your health, but sugar hides in places you’d never expect: whole foods, diet foods, packaged foods, dressings . . . even sugar substitutes. And it’s not enough to cut out or cut back on sugar—you have to cut out the right kinds of sugar. In this groundbreaking program, New York Times bestselling author JJ Virgin explains the powerful concept of Sugar Impact: how different sugars react differently in the body. High Sugar Impact foods cause inflammation, energy crashes, chronic illness, and weight gain. Low Sugar Impact foods heal your body, fuel your day with prolonged energy, and promote fat burning. This eye-opening program pinpoints the most damaging sugars we eat every day—without even realizing it—in common foods like skim milk, diet soda, whole-grain bread, and “healthy” sweeteners like agave. By swapping high Sugar Impact foods for low Sugar Impact foods for 2 weeks you will transform your body and your health for good. Best of all, you don’t need to eliminate sugar completely or count calories. All sugar is not created equal. Simply drop your sugar impact and you will feel better fast!
