    in Politics

Tonight we have a very special guest, Rabbi Yehuda Glick!

Rabbi Yehuda Joshua Glick is an American-born Israeli rabbi and Torah Scholar, Recently he was shot during an assignation attempt by Hamas and survived 4 bullets in the chest and abdominal cavity. He is a civil rights activist who campaigns for expanding access to World Jewry to our temple mount area, which is currently under control of Jordan. Glick is the leader of the group Haliba, a coalition of groups dedicated to “reaching complete and comprehensive freedom and civil rights for Jews and Gentiles on the Temple Mount.

Yehuda Glick was born on 20 November 1965 in the USA to American parents, Brenda  his mother and his father Shimon Glick; the family made Aliyah to Eretz Israel when he was a child. Glick is chairman of the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation, and previously worked as the executive director of The Temple Institute, a group that supports the building of the Third Temple on the Temple Mount. Glick advocates opening the Temple Mount on an equal footing to prayer by Muslims, Jews, Christians and others. He has been called "a symbol of the struggle for Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount. And has been described as representing the recent shift in the demand for Jewish prayer to be permitted on the Temple Mount on an equal footing. Left Wing Liberal journalist of Haaetz Nir Hasson credits Glick as having put the Israeli left on the defensive by "uncover(ing) the absurdity created at the Temple Mount" by a status quo that, by permitting Muslim prayer while prohibiting Jewish prayer, "discriminates against people because of their religion."

The Thomas Loop Radio Show-AM1440-WJJL-Interview-Joe Valerio(pt. II) 12/24/2014

    in Football

Part Two of Two - Interview with Procducer of Sports Reporters - auother of Second To None - Joe Valerio

In Second to None, author Joe Valerio tells the incredible story of the Buffalo Bills: the perpetual almost-champions and their indomitable fans. The Bills' incredible skill and teamwork on the field was matched only by their single-minded determination as, in the four years spanning 1991 to 1994, the team won four consecutive conference championships, and lost four consecutive Super Bowls. The peaks and nadirs of their record reflect a fascinatingly dynamic, uneven, and—at times—uncontrollable array of talents. Valerio renders in sharp detail how the Bills' unique culture was formed by an unlikely ecosystem of world-class athletes hunkered down in bleak western New York, far away from the celebrity playgrounds of other pro teams. Meticulously researched and carefully crafted, this one-of-a-kind look inside the Super Bowl-era Buffalo Bills is based on extensive interviews with the key players, coaches, and management, including Hall of Famers Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith, as well as coach Marv Levy, general manager Bill Polian, and many others, including players and coaches from opposing teams, and the reporters who covered them.

Coffee Party Book Club - The Stronghold: by Professor Thomas Schaller

    in Politics

How Republicans Captured Congress but Surrendered the White House.  Once the party of presidents, the GOP in recent elections has failed to pull together convincing national majorities. Republicans have lost four of the last six presidential races and lost the popular vote in five of the last six. In their lone victory, the party incumbent won—during wartime—by the slimmest of margins. In this fascinating and important book, Thomas Schaller examines national Republican politics since President Ronald Reagan left office in 1989. From Newt Gingrich’s ascent to Speaker of the House through the defeat of Mitt Romney in 2012, Schaller traces the Republican Party’s institutional transformation and its broad consequences, not only for Republicans but also for America. Here is Schaller’s message: as the GOP became more conservative, it became more Congress-centered, and as its congressional wing grew more powerful, the party grew more conservative. His belief is that this “dangerous loop”, unless broken, may signal a future of increasing radicalization, dependency on a shrinking pool of voters, and less viability as a true national party.  It’s a thought-provoking idea that we invite our Coffee Party USA members to consider by reading the book and joining us for a discussion with the author.  A link for purchasing the book can be found on our Coffee Party USA website.

On Monday, March 30 at 8:30pm EST, you will have your chance to ask Professor Schaller about his take on the direction of the Republican Party and what it means for all of us as we host him on our special monthly BlogTalk Radio program event.  Mark you calendar now!

Rhonda Thomas was a featured soloist and background vocalist

for Isaac Hayes for 11 years before his untimely passing. Rhonda

served in that capacity while remaining extremely focused on

elevating her solo musical career. Issac Hayes wholeheartedly

supported Rhonda’s desire to spread her wings musically. He

commented, “Her voice has a wide range. She has the quality,

vocal timbre and vibrato of Denise Williams when she goes high.

There are a lot of vocal sounds in this young woman. Jazz-wise

she can scat too!” Additionally, in Isaac Hayes’ review of “Breathe

New Life” he further expressed, “WOW, a human voice singing

songs of substance... Hats off to production, musicianship,

arrangement, vocals and don’t miss the lyrics, it’s a breath of

    fresh air.”

A resident of Atlanta, GA who performs nationally and

internationally, Rhonda’s natural talent, professional drive, and

many times and has opened numerous doors for her. She has

Flack, Roy Ayers, Frank McComb, Dwele, Eric Roberson,

N’dambi and Sam Moore (of the legendary duo Sam and Dave)

just to name a few. With her enchanting voice, Rhonda has

stamped her name on the hearts of all that have witnessed her

    singing live.

She wears her influences like an elegant gown draped with

the improvisational skill and vocal acrobatics of Sarah Vaughn

and Al Jarreau, and the depth and emotional effectiveness of

    Phyllis Hyman and Chaka
