    Efficacy of Music Therapy

    in Health

Tory Sherlock is currently in the last year of her undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston, graduating with Honors and a BA in Psychology. She is trying to continue on to graduate school for music therapy. For her senior thesis this year, she is researching the efficacy of art therapies in a variety of contexts including healing and rehabilitation. This study will focus on the perspective of the therapist and giver of treatment, not just client/patient outcome. Part of her research will include carrying out interviews with prospective therapists who are willing to answer some questions about their stance on their work, what brought them to the field, along with some other similar topics.

Since I get requests for interviews or information from students frequently, I thought I'd record this one so that other students looking for similar information might be able to use it for their projects, too.

1-29-16 Navigating the Trade: BoJ Negative Rate Announcement

    in Finance

rcmTradingDesk - Your source for all aspects of trade navigation - From building trading systems to managing risk

Co-Hosts Bret Rosenthal and Bill Jacobs breakdown in graphic detail actual trades occuring in real time and teachable moments of recent vintage.

Today's focus: How BoJ negative rate announcement effects our Stalking the Bear Thesis.

Stalking the Bear: Fellow Hunters Pick Up The Scent

It would now appear some of our contemporaries have picked up the scent of the Grizzly. It should be noted that ZeroHedge has been on this Bear theme for years, but of course timing is everything in our world and the S&P500 (SPY) built this fatal triple top at the end of 2015. But I digress, we felt a review of some of this late but well thought out analysis would be interesting…

    Living with MST Brain Lewis

    in Military

Brian enlisted in the Navy in 1997, attended initial training schools, and advanced to the rank of Fire Control Technician Third Class. During his tour on the USS Frank Cable (AS-40), a superior non-commissioned officer sexually assaulted him in August 2000. He was ordered by his command not to pursue a report of this crime with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. After this crime, Brian was misdiagnosed with a Personality Disorder by a Naval psychiatrist and discharged by his command in August 2001. He received a disability rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs in June 2002 for his post-traumatic stress disorder resulting from the military sexual trauma. Brian’s petition to change his discharge from a general discharge for a personality disorder to a medical retirement for post-traumatic stress disorder was denied by the Board for Correction of Naval Records in August 2004.

Brian holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Paralegal Studies from Anne Arundel Community College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies from Stevenson University, and a Master of Science in Forensic Studies from Stevenson University in December 2013. His master’s thesis was written on military sexual trauma and nominated for publication in the Stevenson Forensics Journal.

Brian is currently a second year student at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota where he is pursuing a joint JD/MPA program and serves as Treasurer of the Mitchell Hamline Veterans Association.

He hopes to continue serving by litigating and continuing to advocate for veterans and military sexual trauma survivors.
