Philosopher Steve Katz presents an introduction to the most controversial field of investigation pursued by Wilhelm Reich in his last decade of work. In the aftemath of the "Oranur Experiment," new light was cast on religious belief, natural spirituality, and occult philosophy. A book length treatment is on Dr. Katz's blog "Harbors for Life." The door had opened with Reich's book "The Murder of Christ." In the "Introduction" to that book he states: "The Oranur Experiment, beginning 1947, has unexpectedly provided some basic solutions to emotional and social problems of man, solutions which have been entirely inaccessible heretofore. An extensive publication of the emotional implications of the Oranur Experiment is in preperation. THE MURDER OF CHRIST may well serve as an introduction of biographical background material to Oranur." - (N.Y., Noonday Press, 1971). See also, "Alone," a tape recorded by Reich (obtainable from the WR Musuem in Rangeley, Maine). In that taped monologue, Dr. Reich stated that there was not a single co-worker or student who understood the depths of the "Oranur Experiment."

The Theology of Thomas if you know anything about Jesus then you know about Thomas the doubter. Thomas needed proof to believe that Jesus died and rose again. He had to see the proof for himself once he saw the proof only then did he believe. Jesus has blessed those who believe without proof of scarves. Thomas was a disciplewho believed when Jesus was with them in the natural but once he was crucified, died, Thomas had a problem with believing Jesus had rosed from the grave.

Today's passage of Scripture is Ezra 8:22 which reads: "The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.."
Today's words from a theologian are from E. Stanley Jones. He said: "God, to redeem us at the deepest portion of our nature -- the urge to love and be loved, must reveal His nature in an incredible and impossible way. He must reveal it at a cross."
Our first topic for today is titled "What Characteristics of Himself Does God Share With Humans? (Part 1)" from the book, "Understanding Theology in 15 Minutes a Day" by Dr. Daryl Aaron.
Even the characteristics of himself that God shares with humans—communicable attributes—are not quite the same in us. All of these are perfect in God but imperfect in people. Nevertheless, it is with regard to these attributes that we as humans can most relate to God.
Closely related to God's holiness is his justice or righteousness Both English words are used to translate the Hebrew and Greek terms that are biblically applied to this aspect of God's being, and while they share a moral sense, there are other nuances as well.
Our second topic for today is titled "Theology of the Prophetic Era (Part 1)" from "The Moody Handbook of Theology" by Dr. Paul Enns.
--- FUNCTION OF THE PROPHET
The prophets of Israel played an important role in declaring Israel's future kingdom blessings regarding the original promise given to Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3 and amplified under the Palestinian covenant and the Davidic covenant.
Theology first, then music.
Quotations from Martin Luther:
“Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it
is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us.” ? Martin
“Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.”
? Martin Luther
“Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through Music.” ? Martin Luther
“Music is the art of the prophets and the gift of God.” ? Martin Luther
“My heart, which is so full to overflowing, has often been solaced and refreshed by music when sick and weary.” ? Martin Luther
“The devil, the originator of sorrowful anxieties and restless troubles, flees before the sound of music almost as much as before the Word of God….Music is a gift and grace of God, not an invention of men. Thus it drives out the devil and makes people cheerful. Then one forgets all wrath, impurity, and other devices.” ? Martin Luther
“A person who…does not regard music as a marvelous creation of God, must be a clodhopper indeed and does not deserve to be called a human being; he should be permitted to hear nothing but the braying of asses and the grunting of hogs.” ? Martin Luther
Before the Diet of Worms:
"Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason - I do not accept the authority of the popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other - my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. God help me. Amen."
Join Devin & Melissa Pellew as they discuss topics related to biblical theology, Christian apologetics and worldview issues. This week we will discuss the idea of Christianophobia. We hear a lot in the media about Islamophobia and Homophobia but we will be discussing the bias against Christianity in our society- particularly in academia.
Joining us to discuss this issue will be Professor of Sociology, Dr. George Yancey, from the University of North Texas. He has published several research articles on the topics of institutional racial diversity, racial identity, academic bias and anti-Christian hostility. His books include Compromising Scholarship (Baylor University Press) a book that explores religious and political biases in academia, There is no God (Rowman and Littlefield) a book that investigates atheism in the United States, So Many Christians,So Few Lions (Rowman and Littlefield) a book that assess Christianophobia in the United States, and Hostile Environment (Intervarsity Press) a Christian book that explores how Christians should deal with Christianophobia. He currently is working to create the first Christian Studies center on a secular campus.
Join us for this discussion on a topic that is rarely discussed but is important as we reach the next generation in the classroom.
