    Theology First, Then Music.

    in Current Events

    Theology first, then music.

    Quotations from Martin Luther:

“Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it
is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us.” ? Martin
    Luther

“Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.”
    ? Martin Luther

“Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through Music.” ? Martin Luther

“Music is the art of the prophets and the gift of God.” ? Martin Luther

“My heart, which is so full to overflowing, has often been solaced and refreshed by music when sick and weary.” ? Martin Luther

“The devil, the originator of sorrowful anxieties and restless troubles, flees before the sound of music almost as much as before the Word of God….Music is a gift and grace of God, not an invention of men. Thus it drives out the devil and makes people cheerful. Then one forgets all wrath, impurity, and other devices.” ? Martin Luther

“A person who…does not regard music as a marvelous creation of God, must be a clodhopper indeed and does not deserve to be called a human being; he should be permitted to hear nothing but the braying of asses and the grunting of hogs.” ? Martin Luther

    Before the Diet of Worms:

"Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason - I do not accept the authority of the popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other - my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. God help me. Amen."

Definition of the Term Biblical Theology, Part 1 (Theology 101 #1)

    in Christianity

This podcast is designed to give you a basic understanding of God, the Bible, and Christian beliefs. As. J. Dwight Pentecost said, "There is no higher activity in which the mind may be engaged than the pursuit of the knowledge of God."

Let's start out reading the Word of God itself. Today's passage of Scripture is 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 which reads: "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."

Today's words from a theologian are from Thomas Aquinas. He said: "We can't have full knowledge all at once. We must start by believing; then afterwards we may be led on to master the evidence for ourselves."

Our topic for today is titled "Definition of the Term Biblical Theology" (Part 1) from "The Moody Handbook of Theology" by Dr. Paul Enns. And, I want to remind you to take advantage of our special offer. If you enjoy this podcast, please feel free to purchase a copy of this book -- "The Moody Handbook of Theology." It is available on our website for just $50.

The term ‘biblical theology' can be used in different ways. Although the way we will use it focuses on a special method of theological study, it should be understood that the term is widely used to refer to a movement that is basically antagonistic to evangelical faith. This negative usage is considered and discarded before the legitimate meaning of biblical theology is discussed.

    Job the Theology of reason

    in Religion

           Job the Theology of reason

Theology-the field of study and analysis that treats of God and of God's attributes and relations to the universe; study of divine things or religious truth

Reason-a basis or cause, as for some belief, action, fact, event ... i.e. logic

This then would be the logical study of God in relation to the universe.

Job is a type of the last days servant of God .... the afflictions and the plateau of the overcomer.

    Job 4:6
Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?

    The Cult of Liberal Theology

    in Christianity

The Apostle Paul warned the Church--both ancient and modern--to recognize and defend against certain enemies:  those who come against her from the outside and those who attack from within.  Today, that warning still holds true but the greatest danger by far is not the Atheists, the Agnostics or even the anti-Christian mainstream media--the greatest danger is the corrupt and apostate shepherds who infest our seminaries and colleges and who stand in the way of anyone fighting to preach the Gospel.

"For the time will come when men will not endure sound doctrine but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Walter Martin tackles the cancer of Liberal Theology within the Church...on Night Watch.

    Esoteric Christianity: Understanding Archetypal Theology

    in Spirituality

On this episode of EYE of the SEER, Bryan and Amanda are joined, once again, by Deacon Thomas Moreland to discuss how esoteric Christianity interprets Christian theology at a higher, more Cosmic level. They will discuss how archetypal truth ultimately exposes greater realizations that are contained both symbolically and literally within conventional Christian scripture. If you thought the Bible was an antiquated control manual for making other people miserable, think again! This show will help you to give Christianity back its much needed spiritual perspective.
