Definition of the Term Biblical Theology, Part 1 (Theology 101 #1)

    in Christianity

This podcast is designed to give you a basic understanding of God, the Bible, and Christian beliefs. As. J. Dwight Pentecost said, "There is no higher activity in which the mind may be engaged than the pursuit of the knowledge of God."

Let's start out reading the Word of God itself. Today's passage of Scripture is 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 which reads: "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."

Today's words from a theologian are from Thomas Aquinas. He said: "We can't have full knowledge all at once. We must start by believing; then afterwards we may be led on to master the evidence for ourselves."

Our topic for today is titled "Definition of the Term Biblical Theology" (Part 1) from "The Moody Handbook of Theology" by Dr. Paul Enns. And, I want to remind you to take advantage of our special offer. If you enjoy this podcast, please feel free to purchase a copy of this book -- "The Moody Handbook of Theology." It is available on our website for just $50.

The term ‘biblical theology' can be used in different ways. Although the way we will use it focuses on a special method of theological study, it should be understood that the term is widely used to refer to a movement that is basically antagonistic to evangelical faith. This negative usage is considered and discarded before the legitimate meaning of biblical theology is discussed.

    Job the Theology of reason

    in Religion

           Job the Theology of reason

Theology-the field of study and analysis that treats of God and of God's attributes and relations to the universe; study of divine things or religious truth

Reason-a basis or cause, as for some belief, action, fact, event ... i.e. logic

This then would be the logical study of God in relation to the universe.

Job is a type of the last days servant of God .... the afflictions and the plateau of the overcomer.

    Job 4:6
Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?

    The Cult of Liberal Theology

    in Christianity

The Apostle Paul warned the Church--both ancient and modern--to recognize and defend against certain enemies:  those who come against her from the outside and those who attack from within.  Today, that warning still holds true but the greatest danger by far is not the Atheists, the Agnostics or even the anti-Christian mainstream media--the greatest danger is the corrupt and apostate shepherds who infest our seminaries and colleges and who stand in the way of anyone fighting to preach the Gospel.

"For the time will come when men will not endure sound doctrine but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Walter Martin tackles the cancer of Liberal Theology within the Church...on Night Watch.

    in Spirituality

On this episode of EYE of the SEER, Bryan and Amanda are joined, once again, by Deacon Thomas Moreland to discuss how esoteric Christianity interprets Christian theology at a higher, more Cosmic level. They will discuss how archetypal truth ultimately exposes greater realizations that are contained both symbolically and literally within conventional Christian scripture. If you thought the Bible was an antiquated control manual for making other people miserable, think again! This show will help you to give Christianity back its much needed spiritual perspective.

    Healing Theology

    in Spirituality

This week on a special two-hour edition (originally scheduled to be 90 minutes) of EYE OF THE SEER, Bishop Bryan D. Ouellette, Ph.D., SOSM will make an important announcement about his ministry held within the Holy Nicholean Catholic Church. Then, Deacon Thomas Moreland and Amanda Lee Morris, MSW, will discuss the ways through which Esoteric Mysticism connects all religions to a common spirituality. But can this "common spirituality" reconcile theological conflicts between conventional Christian theology and those of non-Christian religions?

Bishop Ouellette, in his unceasing effort to bring all people to a mutual respect and spiritual commonality, is often accused of serving "two masters" by his peers and critics. In Matthew 6:24 Jesus states, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other." Is the Esoteric Mysticism program a violation of what Jesus taught? Are we, by offering things like tarot card readings and Buddhist meditations while also speaking about the True Presence of Christ within the Eucharist violating Matthew 6:24?

Tonight, Bishop Ouellette attempts to set the record clear, once and for all, dispelling as much confusion as is possible while answering the age-old question: Can We [like the popular bumper-sticker] Co-Exist or are we just too spiritually incompatible to do so?

The Theology Of Christmas by AW Tozer

    in Religion

The Theology of Christmas by A.W. Tozer

    Topic: Christmas
    Scripture(s): 1 John 1:1-10
Description: Underlying the lovely melody of Christmas is a foundation of rock-solid theology. Dr. A. W. Tozer draws seven features of wonder and mystery from First John 1:1-10, as he contemplates 1) the wonder of “that eternal life;” 2) the wonder of life manifested; 3) the wonder of light; 4) the mystery of iniquity; 5) the wonder of sin forgiven when confessed; 6) the wonder of cleansing from unrighteousness; 7) the wonder of communion. “The Theology of Christmas” was recorded in Chicago, Illinois, probably in December of 1957 or 1958. It is 38 minutes and 35 seconds in length.
