Why so much interest in stories of young gay athletes? Plus, Bruce Jenner talks.

    in LGBT

Today's episode is brought to you by AT&T. Mobilizing Your World.

At Outsports we've noticed a powerful reaction every time we post stories about young LGBT athletes. Our latest story, of two gay high school athletes at a West Virginia prom, was shared over 40k times on social media. What is it about these stories that resonates so strongly with so many readers?

Plus, Bruce Jenner had a big night last week as he came out publicly as trans in an ABC interview with Diane Sawyer. What did America learn about trans issues, and will his revelation have an impact on America's treatment of trans people?

"Keys for Success Monday" Being a Young Entrepreneur in America

    in Entrepreneur

Becoming a young entrepreneur is a great way to live your dream and vision of having your company, own time structure, and building something that is YOURS!

Stay energetic. Starting a new business requires hours of dedication and sacrifice. You have to believe and be excited about your product as if you not who will someone else be? Your energy will transfer to everyone you meet and speak to about your business, and this will lead to growth.

Be impatient. Many people say stay patient and good things will happen. The people who say that are the people who have yet to achieve what they want. The more inpatient you stay the quicker your business will grow and succeed.

Take risks. The most successful entrepreneurs like Branson and Trump didn’t get to where they are by playing it safe. As an entrepreneur, you need to take calculated risks to move your business forward.

Surround yourself with success. Whom you surround yourself with is who you become. Drop the deadweight of people holding you back and seek a new circle of influence. Being around these people will let you grow, learn, and see what it takes to be successful.Your Network is your Net worth.

Partner with experience. You may be young, energetic, and bold, but you also need experience to guide you through the journey of being an entrepreneur and running a business. Seek out knowledgeable council from friends, associates, and successful business persons and get them to buy into your vision so you can both move forward together.

    A Kind Voice on Movies

    in Movies

"Between Shifts" is a short film that follows Joanne, a lonely diner waitress, as she embarks on a journey one afternoon while on break between her lunch and dinner shifts.

This modern-day fairytale explores the magic that surrounds us in our everyday lives - the extraordinary in the ordinary - if we’re just willing see it!

"Between Shifts" was a semifinalist in the 2014 BlueCat Screenplay Competition: "Poignant, taut and funny, this is a rewarding read, and has the potential to be a film festival audience favorite."

Our guests this episode will be Actress/Writer/Producer Jaime Saginor, Producer Kellie Dantzler, and Director Lysandra Petersson  to discuss this film and the magic of every day life.
