Eric Matson - Fine Woodworking - Rio Grande Comm College Jan 14 2015 at 1:00 pm

    in Education

Business Talk features Eric Mature, Faculty with the Fine Woodworking Technology at Rio Grande Community College on January 14, 2105 at 1:00 pm

The University of Rio Grande's Fine Woodworking program prepares and enlightens students with the skills necessary to be successful woodworkers.  These skills will be developed in a "hands on" experience where most of the students' time is spent in the shop building fine furniture.  The program operates like a professional, custom furniture shop using machine for dimensioning stock and increasing efficiency.  Hand tools are used to cut fine joinery and create the many fine details that machines can't duplicate.

The FW program design and build jigs to use with the table saw, shaper, and other machines to increase safety and production.  Dovetail joinery, turning, carving, and other visual details are done by hand.  We feel that learning this balance between hand tools and machinery is the key to making fine furniture.

The program offers a one-year certificate and a two-year Associate's Degree.  The FW classes, along with courses in math, science, and communications greatly increase the marketability of graduates of the Fine Woodworking program.

    Financial Freedom University

    in Entrepreneur

Fresh off the State of the Union 2015, President Obama brought up many key financial issues that need to be addressed in this world.

This is one of the KEY aspects my show is focused on...

Financial Freedom University is the free school of education filled with an array of topics that were not taught in school . Important topics like taxes , budgeting , time management , finances, debt management , personal development  , health wellness , and  more  important topics. . Financial freedom is much more than having money. It’s the freedom to be who you really are and do what you really want in life.

I teamed up with the popular "The Nikki Rich Show Network ", where we plan on helping people get their visions across to the masses and take over 2015.  This season stay tuned in for entrepreneurs,  celebrities, entertainers, business owners , artists and everyone interested in spreading financial awareness to the masses while pursing their dream.

Learn about who I am as a female entrepreneur , find out about my goals/visions,  and my path to financial freedom. More importantly tune in to hear how I aspire to change hundreds of people's lives this year and take them on a path to financial freedom.

John Reed - Del Rio Middle School Robotics Coach

    in Electronics

As we continue on with this robotics season one of the interviews I wanted to make sure to capture was really more of an update show. Last year I spoke with John Reed, who told the story of the growth of FIRST robotics in Del Rio, TX which is a small Texas border town. The reason I wanted to bring John back on the show was because between this year and last year there has been what I’ll call an explosion in the amount of interest and robotics teams along the border. I like to think of John who is a teacher and robotics coach at Del Rio Middle School as the spark that has lit the fuse of this new growth.

The Alamo First Show is made possible through the continued support of our Title Sponsor,  Rackspace the #1 managed cloud company, famous for providing their customers fanatical support. We thank you, Rackspace for continuing to provide Alamo FIRST with fanatical support.
