Talking with actor and novelist Cory Williams

    in Lifestyle

Today's guest is Cory Williams  a writer/actor currently living and working in Los Angeles, California and seeking to spread the good word about my work.  As a Boomer Having moved from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Los Angeles, California- the entertainment Mecca of the country- to be an actor, one could say that from one job to the next, He is  still continuously pursuing the dream, one that is about the journey, not necessarily the destination.  In the process of pursuing the dream, he's become  a published novelist. As a writer, his primary genre of choice is science fiction.  He always believed that one of the most powerful questions posed in any language is “What if…?”  As such, science fiction- being the mythology of the modern age- is the perfect playground in which to allow his active and fertile imagination to run free.    He currently has four novels published and on the market, available in print-to-order trade paperback and downloadable e-book format.

    GBBLive: Blazer's Edge's Sam Tongue & 92.9 ESPN's Ben Hogan Talk Grizz/Blazers

    in Basketball

The first round playoff series marches on, and GBBLive continues to grind along with the Memphis Grizzlies! Join Host Joe Mullinax and Producer Chip Williams at 6:30 PM CT for another terrific episode as the Grizzlies' First Round series against the Portland Trail Blazers remains the focus of GrizzNation.

Our first segment as always will feature Chris Faulkner, Grizzly Bear Blues' Managing Editor. The series at large will be the topic of conversation; the Grizzlies' chances after winning the first two games to get both games in Portland, the health of Arron Afflalo and others and so much more.

The second segment will bring the Portland perspective as Sam Tongue, contributor to BlazersEdge.com, will join the Podcast for the first time. What Portland must do to hold serve in the Moda Center this Saturday and Monday and who must step up for the Blazers are on the table for discussion.

Finally, the Producer of 92.9 ESPN Memphis' "Eric Hasseltine Show" Ben Hogan will return to GBBLive! One of the original "friends of the program" will help Joe and Chip talk about the playoff atmosphere in Memphis and how the Mike Conley/Tony Allen injuries have impacted the Grizzlies so far, if they have at all.

Will Adam Silver Take a Stand on Changing Playoffs?

    in Basketball

Adam Silver has been commissioner of the NBA for 14 months now. He has been forceful on one issue -- the lifetime suspension of Donald Sterling, which led to the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers to billionaire Steve Ballmer.

It is time for Silver to stand a stand again, and this time it has to do with reformatting the playoffs.

I wrote an open letter to Silver about this very issue less than a month ago, and it is certain to come up at the NBA Board of Governors meeting in New York next week. My suggestion: Take the six division winners, seed then 1 through 6, and then take the remaining teams with the 10 best records and bracket them so that 1 plays 16, 2 plays 15, and so on.

That was one of the topics I discussed today on the Eric Hasseltine Show on ESPN Radio in Memphis, along with plenty of talk about the flatlining Grizzlies, the surging Spurs and a few other NBA topics. Enjoy.
