Tonight, David and Jeff pay their respects to a fallen King and a retiring king...bring some positive news from the metal front...and laugh at two stories from the week.
Amongst the babble, they will play tunes from the likes of the Ravyns and others.
Tonight, David and Jeff celebrate the podcast's three-year anniversary. They will recap the stuff that happened since the last podcast, especially the shows that they saw.
Music from The Ravyns, Dirty Purple, The Temperance Movement will be featured, along with a special anniversary gift from the vaults.
Tonight, David and Jeff will hypothetize what combination of drugs led to the Seahawks' coach calling that last play. They will also talk about a recent statement made by Neil Young, along with exciting announcements from US and the Ravyns.
They will also feature a couple of David's "Best of 2014" picks, new Blackberry Smoke and yet another song from the new Ravyns CD.
We take it on the road to sunny Florida and visit live with David Bell. Maryland native David Bell has played with southern MD favorites Grand Slam. In Baltimore he was with Passion, the Ravyns, was a founding member of Never Never, played with the likes of the Patty Reese Band, and many others.
David has relocated to sunny Florida and is involved with some music projects there...we'll find out what he's been up to.
This week, David and Jeff's special guests are Murp. Aaralyn and Izzy has taken YouTube by storm and recently showed the nation (if not the world) what they can do on NBC's "America's Got Talent." They have released an EP: "Broken Crayons," which is available through their website.
Also joining them is Jason, their father and one of the group's backing musicians.
The band discusses their history and their future, while giving the listener song-by-song commentary of the EP.
Oh yeah...there'll be a couple exclusive Ravyns live cuts, too!
Tim Steele, veteran drummer for the Ravyns and other regional bands joins us. Tim is a songwriter as well, and we'll be featuring his music and talking about his life and times. A fairly regular caller to the show under his alter-ego John Cheese, we'll also hear how funny this man is as well.
Kyf (pronounced Kyf like beef, not Kyf like knife) Brewer is our guest on this Monday edition of The Real Time Music Network Blogtalk radio show. We'll hear what been up with this extremely active and talented man. Maryland music veteran Bobby Hird is Lee Townsend's guest in this episode. For their fiftieth episode, David and Jeff welcome Lee Townsend as their guest. Lee is a part of Baltimore music history, playing bass for Climbadonkey, the Ravyns, Never Never, BAMB and many others. He is currently behind the Real Time Music Network and hosts a show by the same name, airing weeknights at 8:00 pm on blogtalkradio.com (along with collegeundergroundradio.com).
Lee and the FFN guys will be discussing all this, while showcasing music from differnet points in Lee's career.
We welcome Guitarist, SongWriter Rob Fahey! Rob is the hardest working musician in the Baltimore area. Well know for his days as the front man for the Band "The Rayvns" who performed the hit song "Raised on the radio" from the soundtrack of Fast Times At Ridgemont High. With Rob, We will discuss the rock music scene in the 80's and what it has evolved to today. We will highlight many of the great songs from the Ravyns as well as Rob's solo work and recent Christmas CD. Rob is a great guy and great musician, this promises to be a seriously fun discussion! Finally our regular contributors, Rev Mike from Chesapeake Cigar will join us at 9:30 to discuss all things "Mancave" then at 9:45, my friend Chef Donna Desfor from Fox TV Harrisburg is going to tantalize your taste buds with Food and Wine tips!
