I AM A SUPERWOMAN PRESENTS: AUTHOR, ADRIENNE S SANTANA LEGACY OF THE LOTUS

    in Motivation

    ADRIENNE S SANTANA

Residing in Centre, Alabama Adrienne Santana is happily married to Tony Santana.  Together they share three adult children and two grandchildren.  She is a two time internationally published bestselling author on Amazon with her third launching this month on the 14th of December.  She published her first essay titled "Legacy of the Lotus” in June of 2014.  It was the writing of this essay that inspired her to start "Legacy of the Lotus" as a tool to help others voice their own stories through the world of anthologies.

When asked what motivates her Adrienne recalls “As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a ''story-teller'' and at the age of six I wrote my first story on blank white paper folding the pages in half and binding them in ribbon to make a book.  It was a craft to me even then.  During class one day, my teacher Ms. Brown caught me making one of these little books and retrieved it from me.  I thought I was in big trouble.  To my surprise, she asked me to stand at the front of the class and said "Class, Adrienne has something I would like for her to read to everyone." Then she nodded to me to go ahead.

Publishing my essay “Legacy of the Lotus” in Erica Gordon’s “Motherhood, Dreams & Success:  You Can Have It All”, renewed a passion I’d long let go of.  A passion to encourage and inspire others to be heard and to share the gift of their life’s legacy.  With that sharing comes a higher level of freedom and self-worth like the one I’d never known and I’ve realized there are no boundaries to our dreams. ... It's with great pleasure that I present to you my guest Adrienne S. Santana..

Bats, Beauty, Arts And Culture-Battambang, Cambodia

    in Travel

It’s often overlooked or just a mere stopover to or from Siem Reap, home of the famous ruins of Angkor Wat but Battambang Cambodia should be on your radar of places to visit in this country. Full of Khmer culture, early 20th century French architecture and a unique charm unlike anywhere else in Cambodia. Join me John Saboe for an exploration in and around Battambang, Cambodia in this episode of Far East Adventure Travel Podcast.

Probably the number one site to visit in Battambang, Cambodia is the world-famous bamboo train. Made from left-over tank wheels, small-powered engines and a bamboo platform it’s a metaphor for the people of this country who’ve adapted and overcome incredible devastation and hardship to their culture and way of life. But this town, the second-largest in the country has so much more to offer. On my last trip through Cambodia I stayed in Battambang for several days exploring the town and discovering it’s charm.

To find out a little bit more about Battambang from a native’s perspective and why it’s so appealing I spoke with artist Kchao Touch, who also owns the wonderfully eclectic Jewel In The Lotus Antique and Arts Shop in the arts quarter.

The sounds of a memorial can quickly fade out to a wedding celebration, sometimes lasting for three days. Most Cambodian weddings are now only celebrated on a single day. This memorial in Battambang lasted for several days.

Another uniquely Southeast Asian tradition respected every day in Battambang is the morning alms. For good luck lay people bring a food offering to the local Buddhist monks that wander the town in return for a blessing. Excerpts from "Bats, Beauty, Arts And Culture-Battambang, Cambodia

The Power of Forgiveness: Forgiving as a Path to Freedom

    in Spirituality

The Power of Forgiveness: Forgiving as a Path to Freedom with Joan Gattuso

In this enlightening title, Gattuso shows readers how to let go of past grievances in order to embrace a life of joy and peace. Sympathetic to the often immense undertaking forgiveness requires, Gattuso provides prescriptive exercises, visualizations and meditations to help readers overcome the most emotional challenges involved in the process.

Including real-life examples of those who have chosen radical forgiveness in light of extreme circumstances, Gattuso illustrates that forgiveness is possible in even the most unthinkable situations. Yet, she also provides guidance for incorporating forgiveness into our daily lives to address the smaller grievances, as well. Whether we are irritated over a stolen parking spot or hurt from an off-handed insult, we are often unaware that our unwillingness to forgive each and every day allows anger to build up in our daily lives.

Written with empathy and offering inspiration from a number of venerated spiritual leaders, this powerful manual provides readers with the tools they need to embrace forgiveness. With the potential to be life-changing, THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS is an invaluable guidebook for anyone seeking to break free from the oppression of resentment and to embrace a more joyful life.

Joan Gattuso has studied with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and has authored three popular books that have been translated into several languages: A Course in Love, A Course in Life, and The Lotus Still Blooms. Gattuso is a well-known Unity minister.
