Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 33

    in Soccer

The Lion of Vienna Podcast is back along with it's long lost son.

Yep, Dan returns this week in what feels like as an eternity, and in great time too, as he has to take over hosting responsibilities with Chris other wise engaged.

Dan was joined by Liam and new debutant Jamie Moss.

The show got underway in classic fashion, talking about a Bolton Wanderers defeat, as the 1-0 loss to Birmingham was briefly touched upon. Then affairs were swiftly moved on to the more recent game, a 1-1 draw with Leeds United. The lads analysed the game in great detail, despite only one of them actually being there, leading to some insightful discussion.

Next up was a round up of the news in Wanderers world, as trio discussed: the signing of Shola Ameobi, Wellington Silva' injury lay off, Liam Trotter being loaned out and scoring, Haydn White scoring his first senior goal and former White Chris Eagles joining Bury.

The third segment saw a preview of Saturday's must win relegation battle against Preston North End, accompanied with some dreadful Halloween puns.

Finally, as everything was a bit last minute, there was no guess who or question of the week, but the boys debated the topic of how much is our current predicament Neil Lennon's fault.

    Enjoy.

Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 32

    in Soccer

This week's episode of the Lion of Vienna Podcast maybe a bit shorter, but it's still just as packed with Bolton Wanderers chat as Chris is joined, once again, by Rob and the returning DownTheMannyRd Tom.

The pod gets underway with a discussion on yet another defeat, as the Whites fell to a 2-0 loss against Burnley.

Then came a preview of Tuesday night's game against Birmingham City, with a brief chat about the Leeds United match next Saturday.

With manager Neil Lennon now being at the club a year, the lads celebrated his first anniversary by assesing how he's done so far and what the futrue holds.

Finally, there was a brief round up of news as it seems Zach Clough is set to sign a new long-term contract and the search for that elusive striker continues. All before the show is seen out with a game of guess who.

    LION OF JUDAH

    in Politics

Guest Co Host: Monica Rosales Director of DocMiami.org
The Lion of Judah (2012), a documentary written and directed by Matt Mindell, tells the story of Holocaust survivor Leo Zisman. Hoping that his horrific suffering can help the next generation better understand what happened, Zisman leads a group of young adults on a journey back to Poland and through humanity’s darkest period. Inspired by the strength of Leo, The Lion of Judah’s powerful message encourages viewers to remember the past and use it to change the world for the better. In film, the group retraces the tragic path Zisman was forced to travel, from the Warsaw Ghetto where he was separated from his family to the Stutthof concentration camp. From there he was sent to Auschwitz, where he survived the war. The group visits Majdanek and other concentration camps throughout Poland. Woven within the context of Leo’s tragedy, the film features trip participants who speak of their own search for answers and identity. Eric Gorenstein, whose father was a concentration camp survivor. Young Poles are also asked their opinions of Jews and the Holocaust, some sadly unchanged from their parents and grandparents deep-rooted anti-Semitic feelings. As the film analyzes viewpoints, it is discovered that the Holocaust is not a thing of the past. Mindell, the Executive Director of the Jewish Enrichment Center in Manhattan, was a producer of The Lion of Judah along with Joe Kavitski, who also served as a cinematographer on the trip. Kavitski, a non-Jew, was so moved by his experience that he has since taught middle school students in the United States about the Holocaust.
