Helping improve your Thyroid Gland Function with Herbs

    in Health

On tonight's show Rosie is going to discuss some important herbs and seeds to add to your diet that will help your thyroid glands and improve your overall health.

    Bladderwhack

This herb has a funny name, but it has a lot of potential for those who are experiencing an underactive thyroid. This is because it has a high iodine content and iodine is one of the most important nutrients for your thyroid. By replacing iodine, it can help to improve an underactive thyroid.
    Flaxseed

You often hear about flaxseed when it comes to digestive health and while it is important for this because it is high in fiber, it also aids your thyroid. Those with underactive thyroid can help to boost their thyroid hormone ratio by consuming this herb on a daily basis. What is ideal about this herb is that you only need about one tablespoon every day to reap the full benefits.

    Evening Primrose Oil

This herb is popular for women’s health, but it is also highly beneficial for the thyroid. In addition to aiding with underactive thyroid as a whole, it can also aid with the symptoms of this condition, such as reducing hair loss and heavy menstrual periods. It is often recommended to drink this as a tea for the most benefit.

CUTV News Radio spotlights Dori Klass & Associates, Inc.

    in Entrepreneur

Oro Valley, AZ – Most organizations are really good at what they do operationally. The challenge is inspiring people to function beyond operations. How do we get managers to care about the people they manage and employees to care about the organization they work for?

Dori Klass is the founder of Dori Klass & Associates, Inc., a coaching and consulting firm specializing in executive coaching, leadership education and communications training. The firm excels in working with people who are interested in bringing about a shift in culture, not just for their organizations but in their personal lives as well. For Dori, that process begins with engagement.

“I do a lot of one-on-one work and I do a lot of work in corporate settings, but the themes are the same for both: growth, trust, engagement, relatedness,” says Dori.

According to a recent study, approximately 75 percent of the North American workforce is completely disengaged at work. Employees are staring at their watches, counting down the hours until their retirement. They’re called the “quit-and-stayed” and that attitude is now systemic and institutionalized. That’s a crisis. So how do you wake people up?

“Quit-and-stay is no longer an option. That’s a recipe for a toxic environment, and given enough time, the company itself is going to suffer,” says Dori. “We’re about bringing engagement and inspiring a cultural shift.”

Dori says that process begins with organizations encouraging employees to be more engaged in their own lives, with a stronger sense of who they are and what they value. When people are more engaged personally, they can transfer that engagement to the workplace.

    Natalie's Story

    in Health

Our guest, Natalie Graniela, is a Postural Alignment Specialist certified by Egoscue University. The school is named for Pete Egoscue who, after being seriously injured in the Vietnam War, created a system of corrective exercise that stops chronic joint pain and muscle pain by restoring good posture. Natalie tells us, "Postural Therapy looks at the body as a unit and targets the cause of the problem not just the part of the body where you are hurting. Through exercise, Postural Therapy restores the body to its proper alignment and function, the way it was designed, pain-free without limitations”. Natalie was professional modern dancer with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company. After her dance career, she spent 26 years working for corporate America and she realized, “my chronic neck, back and hip pain was triggered by the 40 hour workweek sitting at a desk”. She goes on to say, "I was introduced to Egoscue and in the first session I experienced  instant pain relief and now I teach Postural Therapy as my work and dance Argentine tango for pleasure”.

Join us on Saturday, August 1 at 5pm eastern for the interview and guided meditation!

In The Sacred Ego, she tackles one of the core myths of popular spiritual culture—the myth of the ego, supposedly responsible for our greed, selfishness, and violence. In contrast, Jalaja approaches the ego as a sacred function worthy of honor and gratitude. Instead of struggling against it, she invites us to cultivate a new relationship with it based on respect and understanding. With riveting stories from her work, she guides us into the depths of our collective psyche to pinpoint the real sources of our problems and illuminate our path to wholeness.
