For months people have pondered just whom The Mystery Caller is. Is it a broad? Is it a guy? Is it Darth Karta? Is it Dennis Stamp? Is it the former female WWF ref of the 80's? There is much mystery surrounding her. We will try to get to the bottom of things as she is the guest for the week on The George Mack Show.
The Justice Department announced today that the independent federal investigation found insufficient evidence to pursue federal criminal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman for the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida. Prosecutors from the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, officials from the FBI, and the Justice Department’s Community Relations Service met today with Martin’s family and their representatives to inform them of the findings of the investigation and the decision.
The Chicago police department operates an off-the-books interrogation compound, rendering Americans unable to be found by family or attorneys while locked inside what lawyers say is the domestic equivalent of a CIA black site.
The facility, a nondescript warehouse on Chicago’s west side known as Homan Square, has long been the scene of secretive work by special police units.
The 1910 Slocum Massacre in East Texas officially saw between eight and 22 blacks killed, and evidence suggests African-American casualties were 10 times these amounts. Yet the massacre has become a dirty Lone Star secret, remarkably more for the inattention it has received than for its remembrance. Unlike most Texas communities in the early 20th century, the unincorporated town of Slocum — like Rosewood — was mostly African-American, with several black citizens considerably propertied and a few owning stores and other businesses. This alone, in parts of the South, might have been enough to foment violence.
According to the Aug. 2 edition of the Palestine Daily Herald, Gardner said there could be “no justification for shooting men in the back, waylaying or killing them in their houses.” By the time the grand jury findings were reported on Aug. 17, several hundred witnesses had been examined. Though 11 men were initially arrested, seven were indicted — and they were only accused in the murders of five of the identified victims. In the Slocum Massacre, seven men were indicted by a grand jury, but no one was ever tried.
This discussion will focus on the plight of one family (the Holley's) and it is through their eyes that we'll explore what happened at Slocum and what has been done to never forget the price that was paid in that small Texas town.
On May 18, 1927, the small town of Bath, Michigan, was forever changed when Andrew Kehoe set off a cache of explosives concealed in the basement of the local school. Thirty-eight children and six adults were dead, among them Kehoe, who had literally blown himself to bits by setting off a dynamite charge in his car. The next day, on Kehoe's farm, what was left of his wife---burned beyond recognition after Kehoe set his property and buildings ablaze---was found tied to a handcart, her skull crushed. With seemingly endless stories of school violence and suicide bombers filling today's headlines, Bath Massacre serves as a reminder that terrorism and large-scale murder are nothing new.
"A chilling and historic character study of the unfathomable suffering that desperation and fury, once unleashed inside a twisted mind, can wreak on a small town. Contemporary mass murderers Timothy McVeigh, Columbine's Dylan Klebold, and Virginia Tech's Seung-Hui Cho can each trace their horrific genealogy of terror to one man: Bath school bomber Andrew Kehoe. The George Mack Show is back and... most likley guestless. Will George suddenly find himself with a guest? Will Stevie prevent the guest from speaking on a talk show? Will Sign Guy just be there to show merchandise? Will QT show up after a couple of weeks of hiatus? Will The Mystery Caller report on her date with Charlie Cross? Will Joe From Philly call in to discuss CZW? These and more questions will be answered on The George Mack Show.
