When is the right time to take a chance? Who are the right people? What are the right conditions? Neither Darren nor Beth re...alized the musical potential they had when they first met in December 2012. It took several chance encounters -- passing vocal harmonies on a trip to the coast with friends, tentative instrumental work one cold winter evening, comments here and there on lyrics and melody -- before the spark hit. But when it did, it didn't take long for them to catch fire. After playing over 50 shows in less than two years, they are releasing their debut album, The Water's Edge, in April 2015. http://www.marchtomay.com
March to May formed in the Spring of 2013 as a collaboration between singer/songwriters Darren Guyaz and Beth Wesche. Overla...ying Celtic folk harp, guitar & keyboards with rich vocal harmonies, they sing deeply relatable stories of every day life and what it means to love, to live, and to reach beyond what seems possible. They sing from the heart, and carry the listener to a place within their own imagination, their own story.

Tonight, Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes March To May’s Darren Guyaz & Beth Wesche to the Show.
March To May’s Darren Guyaz (guitar, vocals, keyboard) and Beth Wesche (Celtic harp, vocals) first met in December 2012. By March 2013, the folk/indie/Americana duo had co-written their first two songs, by April they had a paid gig under their belts, and by May they had a name and shows booked out into the months ahead. Before settling in Seattle, Washington, where the act is now based, both Darren and Beth had traversed the Western Hemisphere separately. Darren migrated from the northern Appalachians to his birth-state of Montana, before heading on a South American adventure across the Andes mountain range, eventually falling in love with Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. The daughter of a US Foreign Service Officer, Beth also spent time in the Andes, as well as a host of US states on both coasts, before moving to Seattle, just blocks from where her beloved Celtic harp had been created, years before. The duo has drawn comparisons to acts like The Civil Wars, Damien Rice, the Swell Season, The Banner Days, and Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.

Buck Sixx is a country/rock band that stems from generations of family musicians. They all started at an early age playing along with their dads, grandfathers, cousins and uncles. As musicians, they have played with lots of other bands, but the strong family bond has brought them back together to form Buck Sixx. They play original songs written by the band with a blend of Country/Rock. The combination of lyric and music continues to grow the band’s fan base. Brothers, cousins, and Friends they hail from Columbia, Tennessee, just forty miles south of Nashville.. “Buck Sixx’s debut record is one of the strongest freshmen records I’ve ever heard. There truly isn’t a bad song on the record and there isn’t a song that would turn fans off. Buck Sixx successfully showcases who they are as individuals, as a group, as musicians, as vocalists, and as songwriters and it’s a showcase that is uniquely fresh. It’s a package that will allow them to be recognized on many different avenues in the country music industry.” – Thatsmusictome.com

Last year Cara Prior & her husband Scott Prior ran to represent their Legislative District 16 (Arizona House & Arizona Senate, respectively). In a difficult year for Democrats across the nation, Cara and Scott came up short on winning their seats in the legislature. If you ask many politicians, though, persistence pays off in politics for the hard-working & determined representatives of the people. Cara and Scott have again declared for the offices they sought last year.
Tune in to hear from these progressive champions as they launch their 2016 campaigns for House & Senate in Arizona Legislative District 16 out of Apache Junction, Arizona. The Priors are champions for the working and middle classes, animals, the environment, fair trade, the LBGT community, net neutrality and many other progressive causes. They are co-hosts of the show "Progressive Voices of AZ" on Fridays.
On a recent edition of "Progressive Voices of AZ," Cara and Scott hosted Arizona activist Yolanda Bejarano on stopping the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Fast Track option of said "free trade agreement" with Asian countries. As Ms. Bejarano will reveal, previous free trade agreements approved by the United States have been disasters for American job creation and have hurt America's workers, as well as the economy of the United States.
With progressive champions like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders in the U.S. Senate on her side, Ms. Bejarano joins The Social Spitball Show to get the rest of us on board to stopping the TPP and its Fast Track. Tune in and find out how you can help in this very important (and historic) effort!!
Barbara Dee & Bram Sarkowski are ready to "Put PROGRESS in Progressive" as we hear from these three progressive champions!!
Let's get the conversation going...
The American Folk Art Museum is the premier institution devoted to the creative expressions of self-taught artists, past and present.
Since 1961 the American Folk Art Museum has been shaping the understanding of art by the self-taught through its exhibitions, publications, and educational programs. As a center of scholarship and by showcasing the creativity of individuals whose singular talents have been refined through experience rather than formal artistic training, the museum considers the historical, social, and artistic context of American culture. Its collection includes more than seven thousand artworks dating from the eighteenth century to the present, from compelling portraits and dazzling quilts to powerful works by living self-taught artists in a variety of mediums.
Time has changed so much, and relationships just aren't what they use to be. Tonight's segment you will get your chance to express your views on this topic. Would you rather be someone's side piece, or their main attraction? If you don't quite understand, allow us to break it down. A side piece is there, to do all the things that the main attraction just won't do. However, being the side piece limits the time you share. Some people would rather be the side piece. It allows them, to do what they want to do, and they also don't have to put up with all the things the main attraction does. Now the Main Attraction; provides, and give them what they need. They also have to put up with a lot of things, that the side piece will never have to endure. So we will ask you again; Side Piece, or Main attraction.....Which do you prefer? However, in the first hour you will get your chance to speak with this weeks special guest Tumika Cain. She is an award winning author, media personality, publisher, and a poet. She will take you on a journey in her world. Tune in for this hot segment, that you just don't want to miss. Yes, we are still turning up for your co-host Authoress Carolyn B. bday. We hope to see everyone in the playhouse.
