How To Get Over A Break Up

    in Relationships

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

I do not care who you are it is tough to end a relationship when it has been serious.

It is usually even harder if you are not the one that ends it.

We will talk about all that but even more important is what I have experienced that I want to share with you about it.

I suffered so bad after a surprise break up I thought I would never come out of it.

I do not believe I would have either and you may think that is crazy but if so you have never been in love and will not get this show anyway!

    If you know, you know.

I hope to get to know some of you that know after a few shows.

This goes out live every night at 1am CST but you can always listen to the reruns too.

Just go to the website at www.breakingupnotstayingdown.com

Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights Fast Break Executive Business Coaching

    in Business

Mukilteo, WA – Modern business is entering a new paradigm. Traditional approaches to leadership aren’t delivering on their promise. A recent Gallup poll showed that 70 percent of the work force is disengaged or actively disengaged. In today’s demanding environment, business leaders are running 21st-century businesses with 20th-century strategic practices and programs.

Where leadership was once strongly based on a hierarchical model, the influx of women and youth into the workforce has created the desire for a culture that is more collaborative. Like the coach of a basketball team, this new business leader is more of a facilitator than someone who gives orders and directions.

Kenn Dickinson had worked in the corporate world for over 30 years before he could no longer tolerate the corporate approach to leadership, culture and strategy. A former professional basketball player in Europe and a member of the University of Washington, Dickinson wanted to translate the dynamics and mindset of a successful basketball team to small businesses corporate culture. Today, Dickinson is the founder of Fast Break Executive Business Coaching.

“As athletes, we had a certain mindset to succeed,” says Dickinson. “Some people say they want to succeed, but are they willing to do what it takes, to change and have a growth mindset. It requires this mindset in the business world as well.”

Teen Dating and Break up Violence, Should we Break Up?

    in Family

Young adult relationships that turn violent is a big problem, affecting youth in every community across the nation.

Nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year.
One in three adolescents in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner, a figure that far exceeds rates of other types of youth violence.
One in 10 high school students has been purposefully hit, slapped or physically hurt by a boyfriend or girlfriend.
One quarter of high school girls have been victims of physical or sexual abuse.
Approximately 70% of college students say they have been sexually coerced.

    Why Focus on Young People?

Girls and young women between the ages of 16 and 24 experience the highest rate of intimate partner violence -- almost triple the national average.
Violent behavior typically begins between the ages of 12 and 18.
The severity of intimate partner violence is often greater in cases where the pattern of abuse was established in adolescence.
About 72% of eighth and ninth graders are “dating".

    Lack of Awareness

Only 33% of teens who were in a violent relationship ever told anyone about the abuse.
Eighty one percent of parents believe teen dating violence is not an issue or admit they don’t know if it’s an issue.
A teen’s confusion about the law and their desire for confidentiality are two of the most significant barriers stopping young victims of abuse from seeking help

Join me and special guest speaker Dr. Barbara Lavi as we discuss break-up violence followed by workable solutions and healthy ways to have a intimate relationship. Tune in this Friday night June 6th at 9pm CT at www.blogtalkradio.com/ritahodges or call in live at 646-929-0421.
