LatinoTalk Texas 2014, 0042 Texas & Latino Values

    in Politics

LatinoTalk Texas is America's only daily independent political analysis from the Latino perspective.  On today's show I discussed a number of timely issues important Latinos and Latinos in Texas. First, I read an article from Latina.com that pointed out Latino celebrities that are not afraid to comment on political issues especially those important to other Latinos like Immigration Reform which this show favors greatly. Next, I discuss the insulting prospect that a conservative "news" outlet joked the murderess of Selena Quintanilla Perez would be released from prison. This is not true but remains personally insulting. I read an article from "Latinos Ready to Vote" outlining the religiosity of Mexicanos and Mexican Americans in America. No surprise the vast majority, like this show, are Catholic. Later, I mention that Texas Values is working on a number of morality issues in Texas and among them is the effort to defend Christmas and other religious expression which this show also supports. Another issue in the sights of Texas Values is the City of Plano, Texas that has passed a controversial "equal rights" ordinance. Opponents say it violates the First Amendment Freedom of Religion. I enter into a reminding discussion of my perception of the two major political forces in America. They are the Culture of Life and the Culture of Anti-Life or the Culture of Death. Because this show and the vast majority of Latinos are Catholic, we are among the Culture of Life and work to expose the Culture of Death and its means of undermining the Culture of Life. Lastly, I read two articles about Immigration Reform. One article from CNN and by an economist reports on the financial benefits of Immigration Reform which confirms what we have said for years. Lastly, another article articulates the political pitfalls the Republicans have now they have failed to act on Immigration Reform.

LatinoTalk Texas 2014, 0044 Texas: Epicenter of the coming Immigration Debate

    in Politics

LatinoTalk Texas is America's only daily independent political analysis from the Latino perspective.  On today's show, I discuss political analysis on the actions of the nation's leading VENDIDO, Rafael "Ted" Cruz, and how his bullying tactics and most ardent anti-immigration efforts are the polar opposite of Jeb Bush who both favors immigration reform and public school reform. I read articles about both and add my analysis about them and note that Cruz, along with Mike Lee of Utah and Rand Paul of Kentucky, were all elected with a harsh enforcement only anti-immigration perspective and I submit that agenda is actually anti-Latino in its motivation is also very divisive and polarizing. On the other hand, Jeb Bush, former Florida Governor and originally from Texas is the polar opposite but also Republican. He is for immigration reform and public school reform, both topics important and favored by Latinos. Bush has won larger percentages of Latino voters in the past buth can he, as a Republican, win back all those Latinos and more driven away from the party by bullies like Rafael Ted Cruz, the Vendido? I also notice that the Democrats who also do not favor immigration reform but rather remain quiet on the topic and allow the the deeply divided GOP to self destruct. Their strategy will be to wait and see and rely upon the fact that they have had the Latino vote for decades and assume the GOP will mess up like Romney in the past and drive away more and more Latino voters in the next major election. I propose that while Arizona was ground zero for the immigration debate in the years past that Texas and what it does under Abbott and Patrick will become the new epicenter of the immigration debate in America especially since Cruz and Bush and Paul are all from Texas. Except that Cruz, the Vendido, is actually from Canada!

LatinoTalk Texas 2014, 0022 The Texas Governor Race

    in Politics

LatinoTalk Texas is America's only daily Independent Latino Political analysis program in English.  In the first segment I reiterated the importance of voting and why there are political forces in America who don't want you to vote.  Don't listen to them because Latinos are about to become the dominant force in America and there are those Democrats who don't care about you but believe they own you.  And the Republicans have been taken over by the anti-Latino Tea parties and they hate you and want you to leave America.  You must go vote but you can vote independently.  Please do so!  In the second segment I discuss the importance of the Latino vote in the Texas Governor race and how Greg Abbott who is married to a Latina and is also ardently pro-Life seeks to attract the votes of Pro-Life Latinos in the Rio Grande Valley where, incidentally, Wendy Davis, the Democrat nominee for Governor lost the race against a Pro-Life Latino in those same RGV counties.  I'm independent, and cannot support either Davis or Abbott.  Davis is so corrupt she can't visit her own children.  Remember, she rose to fame because she defended abortion at any cost.  Abbott, on the other hand wrote a "Friend of Court Brief" in favor of the very deliberately anti-Latino Arizona SB 1070 which was largely found to be unconstitutional.  He knew better and when questioned about it he preferred to avoid the subject.  He's running from it, I think, and he, politically, seeks to have his cake and eat it too.  In other words, he's anti-Latino in one crowd of Tea partiers and Pro-Life and Pro-Latino in another crowd in south Texas.  I just don't trust either one and won't support either one.  Vote independently!

Talking in Circles: Texas Preview; This Week in NASCAR History

    in Sports

It's been a slow news week in NASCAR this week, so we're going to change things up a bit.

First, we will talk about this week in NASCAR History, which brings us back to November 6th, 1988 and it was the first win for one of NASCAR's most legendary drivers.... Yup, you've gotta listen to know exactly who we're talking about. What a great day of racing that ended with that driver, going to wrong way on the racetrack.

Also, we'll discuss which driver, who hasn't made his or her NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut, do we think is the best driver in the sport... Very interesting conversation.

And if we were commisioner of NASCAR for a day, what would be the first change we would make... Interesting topics, and we'll have Dominic Aragon from TheRacingExperts.com to join the conversation.

Also of course, our picks to win in Texas....

LatinoTalk Texas 2014, 0043 Catholic traditions & 287g Immigration Enforcement

    in Politics

LatinoTalk Texas is news, issues and interviews important to Latinos in America.  On today's show, December 12th, I discuss the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe which is very important to Latinos in America, especially Mexicanos and ethnic Mexicans like myself. I read an article about riders in Illinois who rode to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Des Plaines and delivered a rose while passing on horseback. I went on to read more news from the Catholic News Service concerning the Synod of the Family and Conscious Rights of Catholics under assault in liberal America both by the Obama administration and the liberal City of Washington DC which enacted similar ordinances as Plano, and Houston, Texas which challenge religious freedom and expression. Later in the show, a caller, Juan Martinez, a former police officer in the Dallas Ft. Worth area called to ask about 287g, a federal program that enables local law enforcement to question person incarcerated to determine if they should be evaluated by immigration enforcement. Martinez wanted to know if that program is still in effect. I reported that as I know it is but in reference to SB 1070 which was largely found to be unconstitutional but also still authorized in vague terms state and local law enforcement to be "assist" immigration and customs authorities. Previously, this was not true as the Supremacy Clause prevented state and local LEO from investigating such matters without 287g authorization. However, since the SB1070 case, states have new authorization and in places like Arizona, they uses it indiscriminately and over zealously. I am very worried about the laws Dan Patrick will pass here in Texas and use it to violate the rights of Latinos here in Texas simply because we may look "foreign." Clearly a violation of the 4th Amendment.

LatinoTalk Texas 2014, 0033 Election Analysis

    in Politics

I urge Republicans NOT to assume their anti-immigration efforts are the reason.  I assert failings of Obama and his feckless foreign and domestic policies have been rebuked.  If Obama puts forward any executive relief there will be NO CIR.  He won't consider "rewarding" Latinos with any relief since Democrats lost big. Susanna Martinez was re-elected Governor of New Mexico and that she is the only Latina elected governor in America.  I'm happy about that but I caution in the past she has done things that supported the anti-Latino agenda in America. Greg Abbott won election as Governor in Texas.  He is the first Catholic Governor in Texas history and his wife will be the first Latina First Lady. All this is good news for Latinos in Texas and America but I worry, deeply, about the anti-Latino Nativist movement in America.  In Texas as they have great influence and will soon begin addressing illegal immigration by violating the rights of Latinos all along the border region.  I read an article about the KKK and the Neo-Nazis having nativist white supremacist rallies in Texas.  I warn these groups are in lock step with the evil white supremacist John Tanton Network that have strong influence at the very highest levels of government and each major political party.  For Latinos to ever have Comprehensive Immigration Reform they must rise up in a Politically Independent Latino Movement to oppose the white supremacist movements in America who seek no only to oppose all forms of immigration but also seek to attack Latinos, their rights, and drive Latinos out of America, state by state.  I am deeply worried about the efforts of Dan Patrick in Texas to promote state level immigration enforcement which will, undoubtedly, result in many Latinos in the border areas suffering the same type of abuses and depredations suffered at the hands of the Rinches during the early 20th century.
