ORGANIZED GOOD PART 4
ORGANIZED GOOD IS ORGANIZED GOD
ORGANIZED GOD IS ORGANIZED WORD
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.… John 1:1
The ingredients of organized good!
IF EVIL IS ORGANIZED; THEN GOOD MUST BE ORGANIZED!
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" And He called a child to Himself and set him before them,
and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. "Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.… Matt 18:2-4
Adolescence is a time of growth, development and change. Your teen will develop emotionally and socially as well as physically. This development may seem seamless to you, but there are distinct things happening in your teenager's social and emotional development that are helping them become who they are going to be - helping them to form their identity. While these changes don't follow a timeline to the date of your teen's birthday - your 14-year-old may still act like a 13-year-old socially - teens of different ages do have different social and emotional focuses andbehaviors. Here we have a list of them by age.
Thirteen-year-old teens are dealing with the physical changes in their body - puberty - emotionally as well as physically. Change is not easy for most people at any age and your 13-year-old is dealing with one of the biggest changes of their lives. This will cause your young teen to feel uncertain, moody and be sensitive to what others think of them, especially their peers.
You can have fun sharing in the learning experience as you engage with your teens. Rest assured that Wendy works hands on with parents and organizations teaching them how to use the Get.in the.Game program.
You will love the fact that there are over 30 long-term projects and short-term activities that span five categories of skills: Me & My Career, Me & Money, Me & My Space, Me & Society and Me & Wellness.
If you are a teacher or educator you will be thrilled to use their unique Service Learning program: “EntreGivers”, which Wendy can implement and/or facilitate at schools and organizations. In 2014-2015 EntreGivers will be used under a state funded grant to help youth with status offenses “right their wrongs” (they broke the law) and grow into a community-minded person. Dr. James and Semaj Brown stops by Good Deeds w/ Dr. Renee Sunday. Never in her wildest dreams, did Semaj Brown, co-founder of the Planted Kingdom Project ever imagine transforming herself into vegetable characters and bringing them into life. Nor did her husband, Dr. James Brown, a family physician, ever think that he would be her front man, warming up audiences with his humor, telling his story of how his wife saved him from his daily fast food diet, and ultimately saved his life. What did he do next? He proposed, they married, and the two have gone on to make history, transforming lives in their Flint, Michigan community.
Semaj Brown created vegetarian meals that are savory and satisfying, that would prove to help the couple lose weight. "Adopting a new healthy lifestyle of eating plant based foods, and exercise, was key to our losing a combined 200 pounds," says Semaj. After losing 75 pounds, Dr. Brown decided to motivate his patients and others in the community with his "Pounds Down Challenge", where the individual who loses the most weight wins $1,000.00. "Money is a motivating factor, for sure. January 25th, we will present our third "Pounds Down Challenge" winner, which is sponsored by my practice."
The Browns took to the airwaves hosting radio talk show programs, where Dr. Brown would answer health related questions, and the couple created the segment: "What's for Dinner Mrs. Brown?" Semaj, an accomplished poet, began to creatively give a voice to the vegetables that were the "stars" of her recipes.
