In today's edition of Tech Innovators, Deb discusses the way technology has been "romanticized" in the minds of consumers, so that they feel they MUST HAVE the latest gadgetry, even if it means going into debt. What is this motivation for having the latest, greatest gadgets?
Many new tech items are primarily marketed on a "social status" platform than actual value. Think before you buy and consider the cost of over purchasing for the hottest tech items. There is no way anyone will ever truly keep up with "The Jonses," because technology is in a constant state of flux.
Quote: "The only 'constant' in technology is change!"
Today on Tech Innovators, tech guru and digital media producer, Deb Killion, talks about the evolution of video and how it has affected modern producers' work in content production. Deb owns a multimedia production business in her home and has both a local and global clientele to produce audio and video, as well as other creative projects.
Based on her blog by the same title, Media Creation in the Technology Age looks at the changes that have come down in the media production industry over the past 50 years, and gives predictions for what will happen in the future. This show is for producers of media and digital content, video producers, filmmakers, or anyone interested in a discussion of the changing face of technology as it applies to the world of content production.
Additionally, she will be discussing some work-at-home opportunities surrounding the video and audio production industry with some links to check out for artists and producers.
In this installment of Technology Innovators, Deb talks about the work-at-home platform and how technology has changed working at home forever, due to a number of specific innovative process and how you can benefit from this shift from concrete "building-centered" work to a work at home model rich with resources and technology that makes working easier and more profitable. Additionally, Deb offers several links for work-at-home moms to check out and we focus on ladies as work-at-home entrepreneurs in this show.
While Deb is in a non-traditional female field (Technology), she likes to help women find a job they can do from home so that they can focus on the important things in life. In the last program before the inaugural Private Exchange FORUM in Dallas, hosts Brent Macy and Doug Field will welcome two guests to the program to cover all of the latest in benefits administration and private exchange technology.
The first guest on this week's program will be Kismet Toksu, president of EBenefits Solutions, an IHC Affiliate Member. In 2002, UPMC was seeking an online benefit administration solution to address its 50,000-plus employees spread over more than 50 business units at various locations. Unable to find a system to meet these needs, UPMC made significant investments in technology and expertise to build the solution in-house. The overwhelming success of this initiative for such a diverse organization fostered the creation of EBenefits Solutions in 2005. In this segment, Kismet and the hosts will discuss benefits administration trends and what's ahead for EBenefits.
For the second segment, starting at 11:30 a.m. (ET), the hosts will welcome Scott Carver, president, PlanSource, to the program to discuss the ongoing revolution in benefits administration. It's no surprise that the benefits industry is undergoing dramatic change, and it’s not really about benefits administration anymore – it’s about benefits engagement. The focus on private exchanges and their growth is one important catalyst for the change we’ve been seeing. 2015 is shaping up to be a milestone year for private exchanges with some very strong signals about how the market is viewing the importance of these technology platforms in the fast-changing health and benefits industry.

There is no denying that we are who we are today because of the magic of technology. In 65 years technological innovation has simply exploded. Every piece of equipment has been recreated and improved upon. Even some parts of our own bodies have been manipulated and fixed due to these incredible technologies. For that we must applaud those who have pushed hard to go beyond the human limits.
So what’s the inverse? Well, since technology is so very effective and efficient it’s no surprise that it’s EVERYWHERE. Many of us share a workspace with more electronics than people. This has had mental and physical effects on those who...
