Today a young teen stands up for his sister against after-school bullies. Dr. Joan discusses steps parents and their children can take when other kids tease and even fight.
Are you experiencing relationship dilemmas? Are you having problems with a partner (partner of your heart or partner at work)? Are you going through a divorce? Are your children rebelling? Are you unsure of whether to accept a proposal (such as move in with someone, marry your fiance, or accept a job offer)? Is your roommate untidy? Did someone lie to you? Are you in a dispute with your boss? Did your sister rat you out? Has your friend gone silent?
Like the advice columns of old, Harmony Keys is the place where you can anonymously lay your problems on the table. Dr. Joan is ready to listen and aid you as you sort it out. Her goal is to help you identify possible solutions and guide you toward new ways of looking at the issues.
A portion of each program is devoted to the reading of Dr. Joan's stories about fractured relationships and how people mend them. Her new novel is a work of historical fiction about two Irish families who immigrate to Utah in the early 1900s. Gra Im Thu! I Love You! is a story about how to build tolerance and respect for others when diversity of thought abounds, even in the delicate areas of religion and politics! One family is Catholic, the other is Mormon, and even Methodists are in the mix. Politically, some support non-militant means to obtain Irish independence from the British Crown, while others believe in militant methods, with one character joining the Irish Republican Army.
Please join the conversation. You'll be glad you did!
This matter of bullying is a serious one in our schools, neighborhoods, jobs and even in our homes, yes our homes. Bullying is a common practice of the adversary, Satan him self and this is why a Stand against this type of evil practice has to Stop within our communities. Who is the answer to this shadow of darkness? Jesus Christ and the Body of Christ through prayer and awareness. So Stand! with us in prayer and awareness within our families, schools and communities. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but aganist principalities, aganist powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Eph 6:12 Co-Host Nikeitria Mason will share in this series of "Who's Bullying Who" in bringing this to the forefront.

Music plays a special role in Stephanie's life and career. While many in her position are focused solely on stardom she’s on a mission. Her goal is achieving greater success to become the conduit of positive messages to greater numbers of people in need of hope and confidence.
Stephanie first came to the attention of the musical world at just three years old. As she approached her teen years she endured the typical teasing common among school children. She pleaded with her pastor to let her sing, knowing it would be a positive form of expression, soothing her hurt and anger. She soon discovered her talent was an inspiration to others as churches, festivals, and concert organizers asked her to participate in high-profile musical events.
Stephanie now has an active schedule, recording and performing throughout the Northeast, at venues across the country and around the world including the Naparima Bowl in San Fernando, Trinidad, and Harlem’s legendary Cotton Club. She’s appeared in numerous media including appearances on the radio broadcast of the civil rights organization, the National Action Network. In 2008 she released her first album, Lord, Just Me and You. She is currently working on a new inspirational project with some of New York City’s premiere writers and musicians.
When I think of how fussy women are about their looks, it drives me crazy. We aren’t perfect, we never will be and that’s ok. We weren’t made to have perfect bodies, our bodies change constantly. We were made to ‘be’ and ‘look’ different, but because we don’t look like the magazines are suggesting we should look like, that’s ‘not’ ok according to the media and our world.
In this e-book, I’m here to tell you that the media is wrong and it’s ok to look and be who we want to be regardless of whether you’re a size zero, 10, 24 or 34, whether you have freckles, a big nose, tiny eyes, wrinkles, flabby arms, bone rack, rolls of fat or not. You are ok no matter what the media says and you need to stop letting the media control your thoughts because they aren’t the ones living your life, you are!

Eighth grader Marlo Bishop has overcome what for some may have been an insurmountable challenge. Suffering a blood clot in her right leg at 14 months of age, she was in danger of the clot moving to her heart and ending her young life. Doctors decided it would be best to remove the leg. But having one limb has not slowed down Marlo one bit - she rides her bicycle, roller skates, plays tennis - and is now embarking on a career as a fashion model! Her mother Loretta Elliott explains what it takes to maintain high self esteem in a child who grows up a little different than other children and has to face teasing, bullying and even low expectations from other adults. As a featured model in the upcoming fashion show "We Live And Remember In Color" produced by Quinton de'Alexander, Marlo discusses how she overcame the difficult years to emerge triumphant over what some would consider a major disability, but for Marlo has been the challenge that drove her to excel.
