Ms. E interviews LaTina Benthall, Founder & Director of Beautiful Bold Bald Women Support Group for Alopecia Awareness (www.beautifulboldbaldwomen.weebly.com) You might say she beat the odds of those whose young lives begin in the foster care system, as she was fortunate to have been adopted into a permanent family at the age of 2.
However, it wasn't quite "the end and they lived happily ever after" Amongst other challenges of childhood, at the young age of 10 her hair began to fall out, and two years later she was diagnosed with Alopecia. This only added to the stressors of living through childhood and adolescence as an adoptee. Bullied and teased by peers, she experienced rejection and humiliation and even entertained thoughts of suicide.
.Also joining us will beDr. Linda Amerson, a doctor of Trichology and world-renowned expert on hair and scalp disorders, Dr. Amerson is the manufacturer of her own exclusive product line:Dr. Amerson's ™ Hair, Scalp & Skin Therapeutic Essentials, LLC www.hairandscalpessentials.com
As part of an exclusive writers' group, we all had become pretty close. We shared work, story ideas, writing projects, and marketing and promotional projects. We even shared some aspects of our lives.
We laughed and teased and joked around with each other, supported each other and developed a wonderful little online community that lasted roughly two years.
Then we found out that we'd been dealing with someone whom we didn't know at all. A pedophile.
We were hurt, disappointed, angry and harbored feelings of resentment and betrayal. I may have taken the news the hardest.
Real life is truer than fiction.
Tune in tonight and listen to our story. Author Bryden Lloyd joins me and we try to put the pieces together and make sense of what happened; when we found out that one of our own is a monster and how we can move on without him.
I am so thrilled to be interviewing the AWESOME Rev. Joan AND to also be sitting on her Pulpit to share Science of Mind teachings and jewish wisdom 9/1 and 9/8 during the days of AWE, 2013 High Holidays!
The ultimate desire of Rev. Joans huge heart is the transformation of the planet through the active practice of the principles of the Science of Mind and Spirit in community.
During the show, we'll be talking about her amazing life, how we (as unified beings) love to flirt and come together in the spirit of life. Expect to be teased about a sampling of one of my favorite workshops called "The Sacred Flirt", coming to the Oakland Center for Spiritual Living on September 29th, 2013!

K.A. (Kate) Walton is the second guest in my run of six shows about bullying. Her latest books "Empty" and "Cracked" both cover forms of bullying
EMPTY - Dell is relentlessly teased about her weight, and she’s devastated when a tender moment with her long-time crush turns violent. Distraught and isolated after the attack, Dell’s depression—and life—spins out of control.
CRACKED - Victor hates his life. He's relentlessly bullied at school and his parents ridicule him for not being perfect. He's tired of being weak, so he takes a bottle of his mother's sleeping pills -- only to wake up in the hospital.
Bull is angry, and takes all of his rage out on Victor. He's the opposite of weak. And he's tired of his grandfather's drunken beatings, so he tries to defend himself with a loaded gun. When Victor and Bull end up as roommates in the same psych ward, things go from bad to worse. Until they discover they just might have something in common: a reason to live.
I am looking forward to chatting to Kate about what lead her to write on the subject and her own experiances.
Kelly became a burn survivor at the age of two. This near death experienced has provided her with a greater purpose for her life. She is an accomplished author and speaker who has traveled internationally to share her story, impact others, and changes lives. She knew that her scars weren’t going away. She knew that her self-esteem and beauty had to come from her heart and soul not from the faulty magic.
In today's world, it's so easy to quit and not even try to see it as an opportunity to change directions and move forward, people find it easier to just give up and say they it didn't work. Kelly was given options in her personal and business life and she wanted to quit a million times, but she never would have become the success she is today.
Kelly has a very unique viewpoint on risks as a burn survivor, just leaving the house every day was a huge risk. Would she be teased, or picked on or ridiculed in some way? How would she face the risks and rise above them and become a confident child and woman? Let’s face it in today’s society there is high pressure for girls and women to look a certain way and to feel bad about themselves as they compare themselves to models in magazines and impossible ideals. Kelly knows this one very intimately as a burn survivor. Kelly has had to redefine her definition of beauty. Kelly faced one of her biggest fears, walking the runway and competing in a beauty pageant. All her life she avoided the spotlight, but this time she faced it head on. Kelly nominated herself for the every woman, fashion has no borders model search competition for two reasons; one to challenge herself and to prove to the world that inner beauty is what counts.

World-class artist, Guinness record holder, writer/performer and self-made marketing guru, Mikhail Tank, opens The Heaven Club Marketing Co. He promoted an album on an all-green Times Square billboard in the center of New York City, teased the world that it would not end on 12/21/12 because of a video that had to be seen, invented a historic one man show (garnering BBC press coverage), and strategized a Guinness World record win (in the arts, for the longest title of a music single, released worldwide). With a Bachelor of Arts from a leading California University and having been employed since 2006 at a top 5 major film & TV studio in Hollywood, Tank feels fully ready to open his first broad-based company. "People have approached me multiple times and requested to pay for my natural ability - to create unique hype. I decided in mid 2012 that I should probably heed their advice." Travel has brought Mikhail both spiritual and artistic inspiration; he has spent time in Delphi, Athens, Transylvania, Moscow, Ginza, Kyoto, Monaco, Cannes, Grasse, London, Italy, Belgium and Canada. In addition to many red-carpet awards ceremonies, Tank attended the Centennial Polo match in Santa Barbara (in the presence of William and Kate) and has partied at the exclusive Playboy Mansion. Mikhail is owner of Price of Darkness (BMI), the Darksoul Theatre and Principality Productions. For more information, visit www.MikhailTank.com or http://theheavenclub.com/
