Awareness begins in the Heart
In this episode Robin and Gloria have a lively discussion about evidence that the heart is part of a person's overall consciousness, and has in effect its own brain. The heart has always been associated with feeling, consciousness, and awareness but scientists are finding that the heart is an information processing center that can learn, remember, and act independently of our cranial brain. It also helps regulate our perceptions and emotions. This study of the "thinking brain" is called neurocardiology.
Robin and Gloria also talk about various methods of achieving a quieter state of mind, everything from taking a brisk walk to daydreaming to walking barefoot in the grass.
