Knox County, Ohio – For many writers, the search for inspiration can be a long and daunting task indeed. Returning to the Close-Up Talk Radio experience is author Paula Jo (Eberwine) Blubaugh. For Paula, inspiration for her book, Dalmatian Road, came to her during a simple conversation with her son while driving home one day.
Released in 2012 (Xlibris), Dalmatian Road offers children a simple and fun way to learn and enjoy the experience of reading. Dalmatian Road is full of life, color illustrations, and imagination. Through rhyming, Dalmatian Road provides children the opportunity to identify different animals and colors.
Recently, Paula completed her latest rhyming book tentatively titled Cloudoscope. Paula is also working on a new book from her family dog’s perspective entitled Black Labradorable. “I just want to continue to share the joys of reading through imagination. I like to think outside of the box and do things just outside of the norm. With Cloudoscope, I wanted to rhymes about how incredible the constantly changing shapes of clouds can be, much like a kaleidoscope, and what the imagination can allow them to appear to be. For Black Labradorable, I wanted to do something different by writing a humorous journal from my Labrador’s perspective. People who have pets often look at them and wish they knew what they were thinking. I’m hoping to have both books ready for release by Thanksgiving/Christmas 2013.”

Virginia Beach, VA –According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, nearly half of all children will experience bullying at some point while attending primary or secondary school.
Author and former elementary school teacher Regina Davis believes every school should be a “No Bully Zone.” Davis is the co-author of the Señor Smarty Pantaloons children’s books, a sci-fi/fantasy series designed to teach kids just how hurtful and demeaning bullying is.
“We believe bullying must be nipped in the bud.” says Davis. “We decided to write these books because we are caring and sensitive teachers. We want children to enjoy going to school without the fear of bullying.”
In May of 2013, Davis, along with her collaborator and illustrator Carolyn Royer Spencer, published the second and third books in the series, Lord Computesalot, Ruler of Aurora Bullyalis and His Secret Quest to End Bullying and its corresponding activity book, Lord Computesalot's Quintessential Quest to Banish Bullies.
Led by Señor Smarty Pantaloons, a robotic computer, the characters encourage children to learn more about how to end bullying. The creative workbook’s various activities to teach children about bullying in a creative way.
"We want them to have the proper skills to protect themselves from bullies," says Davis. "All elementary schools, we feel, need a Banish Bullying program."
The books serve as a resource for teachers, parents, guidance counselors and children to discuss the importance of not being bullied but also not bullying others.
“If a child exhibits any signs of being a bully, it needs to be stopped as soon as possible,” says Davis.

Returning to Close-Up Talk Radio is author Helen Olian. Fascinated with writing and animals since her youth, Helen wrote countless stories for her own viewing. After suffering a serious accident and becoming wheelchair bound, Helen decided to turn her passion into magnificent tales for all to see.
Over her professional career Helen has completed 13 books of various themes, 8 of which are “doggie” themed including The Doggy Trip and The Doggy Farm. Helen’s most successful work to date is The Aliens, which was featured on a list of top 100 bestsellers on www.amazon.com. “This is such a tremendous honor to be able to do what I love and see people appreciate it. I write animal themed rhyme verse books for children and it’s exciting to see their reactions at book signings,” exclaims Olian.
Helen is currently completing the ninth and final installment of doggy-themed books entitled The Master Doggy. “To wrap up the series, this tale follows a down-to-earth dog whose boss celebrates his birthday at the office, has a hill near his house and becomes master of the hill. It sticks with the rhyme verse patterns with wonderful illustrations to match. He becomes master yet remains humble. It doesn’t go to his head. It’s a great way for me to finish the series. It’s time to move on.”
Sticking with her youth targeted books, Helen is also working on a bedtime children’s book to help kids sleep at night. Helen’s books are wonderfully illustrated and easily relatable to children ages eight and up. All of Helen’s works are available through Maypole Books, which she founded in her home state of New Mexico.

Grayson’s Live2Love is an almost perfectly paced conceptualized look at the American pop scene from Aretha Franklin to Sade and from Hall & Oates to Maroon 5. Far more than an above average coverage artist, toss in some wildly creative originals including the first radio single “Afterthoughts” highlighting a prolific ability on soprano sax not to mention the ability to bring the long lost vocal art of scatting back to the modern audience. Who does that? While some of her contemporaries struggle with vocals that are “passable” at best, Grayson is a solid vocalist and uses her ability as flavor and texture without ever seemingly pushing the envelope in search of the elusive crossover hit despite the fact this release contains roughly a half dozen.

In the upcoming series, the McLeans will discuss their books and conferences. Marina McLean will be releasing An Appetite for Worship. ‘This book discusses the three realms of the supernatural, how they influence our worship, and how it should be incorporated into our services to see miracles,” exclaims Marina.
Renny McLean has a new book in the works called Portals. Renny’s previous work Eternity Invading Time has been wildly successful internationally. Both spiritual leaders and followers alike have given rave reviews about this work. “It focuses on being able to administrate the supernatural. We aim to help people find a renewed hope, a vision, and passion for life.”

Trumpeteer Joey Sommerville’s musical essence lies in the Baptist church. "When I was a teenager, I would judge the caliber of my playing by the number of people in the congregation who 'got happy'. If you aren't touching the listener's soul, then you aren't really playing music. Soul communication is the key." His latest offering entitled, "The Get Down Club" is iconic, forward thinking contemporary jazz featuring funk, gospel and bop influences delivered with pop sensibilities.
