The late teen years are a time when teens must make decisions about who they want to be as adults.
Becoming an adult is a process that is taking longer and longer, and most parents find that they still play the role of parent well into their child's 20s. Continue to provide emotional support and guidance to your child for the next several years. Child psychologist Richard Weissbourd has argued that a strong and close relationship with a parent can help children navigate the transition into adulthood and full independence.

In the United States children carved faces on hollowed-out pumpkins and put lighted candles
inside to make jack-o'-lanterns. Halloween celebrations today reflect many of these early customs.
Stores and homes display orange and black figures of witches, bats, black cats, and pumpkins.
People dressed in fanciful outfits go to costume parties, where old-fashioned games like bobbing
for apples in tubs of water may be a part of the festivities. Children put on costumes and masks
and go from house to house demanding "trick or treat." The treat, usually candy, is generally given
and the trick rarely played. Some parents feel this custom is dangerous.

Our topic for the poem of the day is Why is God mindful of Man?
I will read the poem at this time:
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon, and the stars, which thou has ordained; What is man that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? God created man in his own image and blessed him.
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepety upon the earth.
Let us pray:
