Ric O’Barry’s mission is to put an end to dolphin exploitation and slaughter once and for all. Dolphins are regularly captured, harassed, slaughtered and sold into captivity around the world – all in the name of profit. The Dolphin Project was founded In 1970, a group that aims to educate the public about captivity and, where feasible, free captive dolphins. O'Barry works not only to halt these slaughters in countries around the world, but also to rehabilitate captive dolphins, investigate and advocate for economic alternatives to dolphin slaughter exploitation, and to put a permanent end to dolphin captivity.
The Dolphin Project has achieved many important victories for dolphins over the years. We brought the world’s attention to brutal drive hunts taking place along the coast of Japan, as seen in the 2009 Academy Award-winning feature documentary “The Cove,” ; we successfully negotiated for an end to dolphin slaughter in the Solomon Islands; we and we continue to raise awareness that captivity is cruel.
Ric O’Barry has been working towards there goals for over 40 years, and he continues his quest to put an end to dolphin suffering. Be sure to stay tuned for information on how you can get involved and make a difference.
This is the path the Shamballah Kings have prescribed for the followers of the Diamond Path. Learn it well.
The path of the Sun and Moon conjoined as one, the Kalachakra Tantra which contains the dharmas of both the path of the two nadis, pingala and ida, the two truths, relative and absolute, the two natures, animus and anima, and conjoins them in a unique synthesis to create what Dao calls "Taiji" or the "Great Pole", this then leads to the union of emptiness & bliss..

Join us on Friday night at 11pm EST for a conversation about whaling, the environmental group Sea Shepherd, and whale conservation, with cinematographer and Wakayama University scholar Simon Wearne. Mr. Wearne, who filmed the first season of the acclaimed Whale Wars program, is now a scholar studying traditional Japanese whaling. We will ask Mr. Wearne about his journey from Sea Shepherd to Wakayama University, and how he walks the line between activists who want to protect whales from being hunted, and those who wish to preserve Japan's ancient whaling heritage.

On March 28, 2014 Save the Blood Dolphins and dolphin advocates from all over the world, including Ric O’Barry star of “The Cove” and Director of the Ric O’Barry Dolphin Project, are planning a huge demonstration at The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) headquarters in Switzerland. The demonstrators are demanding WAZA end their silence and cut ties with the cruel dolphin drive fisheries in Taiji, Japan, and the captive industry that cannot sustain itself without the infusion of wild dolphins: “The number of dolphins bred in captivity does not replace the number that die. They suffer from high mortality rates, low breeding success and often endure physical and psychological disorders. Cetacea are frequently captured from the wild and sold into captivity.”
Sage Ashcroft is an animal activist, environmentalist, and human rights advocate. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies focusing on sustainable land use management, overpopulation issues and environmental policies. Sage is actively involved in the Las Vegas Valley hosting fundraisers for local non-profit animal organizations by combining art, music and educational resources. She’s currently involved with the global campaign to educate people about the link between the brutal dolphin slaughter in Taiji, Japan and organizations like SeaWorld and the Miami Seaquarium.
Sage has been a voice for animal’s rights from a very young age; the older she becomes, the louder her voice is! And with age comes wisdom, because she now advocates for human rights as well. She understands that there’s an intricate link between animal’s and human’s rights, with a deep understanding of all species sharing this planet, as well as the need to care for our planet. She hopes that through positive education people will not only open their minds, but open their hearts as well so together, we can become a more humbled, compassionate world.
Barbara Napoles is a resident of Florida and considers herself a marine mammal advocate.
She is an avid sailor, navigator and captain of her own ship. Barbara speaks up for the dolphins. Her advocacy started after helping out at a rough-tooth stranding in the Florida Keys back in 2005. She’s participated in a couple of strandings.
After watching The Cove and episodes of Blood Dolphins she knew that she needed to do something for the wonderful beings that she’s met while sailing the oceans. She has joined forces with Ric O’Barry from Dolphin Project but will help out any organization that needs her. She’s created many petitions with Change.org. some with over a 100,00 signatures.
Barbara has personally delivered the signatures from her petitions to several Washington DC Embassies. While in DC she participated in the NOAA public hearing to ban the import of Belugas. She has two yearly events in Miami Florida at the Japanese Consulate and attends protests at the Miami Seaquarium and SeaWorld. She is also an avid spokesperson for Lolita.

The Taiji dolphin slaughter has created a global outrage. In this special evening edition of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer will talk to world renowned animal communicator, Laura Lassiter about her experiences with the dolphins and will discuss the following question: What is the real motive behind the Taiji dolphin hunts? Dolphins have been granted rights as non-humans in India. As such, this raises an ethical question-should they be hunted at all? Does the hunt violate legislation in Japan (Act on welfare and management of animals, 10/1/73) that prohibits the Inhumane treatment of animals? Is Taiji out of spirit of this law-a cultural consideration of animal welfare? What is the moral or cultural justification for this cruel and wasteful slaughter of these sentient beings? What are the messages from the dolphins regarding these hunts? Where is our responsibility for the manmade devastating effects that the dolphins are paying for with their lives? What are we teaching our children by supporting the captive industry? What can we do to help speak, support the dolphins and end this barbaric practice? Live calls will be taken from our listeners who wish to share their feelings about this horror as we hope to end this barbaric act of cruelty upon the dolphin, whale and other marine beings.
