Sustainability – Helping the Bottom Line Financially as well as Educationally

    in Education

Most people view sustainability as just another environmental project.  Yet the new Sustainable Jersey for Schools is much more than a “green” program.  Being “green” is just one of several aspects of the Sustainable Jersey programs.  The other benefits look at saving dollars and improving educational outcomes, as well as improving the health of both our students and our staff.  Please join host Ray Pinney as he discuss the benefits and practicalities of this program with Scott McCartney, Superintendent of the Egg Harbor Township School District; Donna Drewes, Co-Director of Sustainable Jersey; and Heather McCall, Sustainable Jersey for Schools Program Director.

Politicians Focus= 2016! Not jobs!? Not wages!? Not Healthcare!?

    in Politics Progressive

General elections favors people resulting in angry republicans. Midterm elections favors Republicans resulting in republicans saying the people want us to rule. Republicans rule is to favors the top 1% of wealthies of Americans. There are 80% of Americans sharing 7% of the entire wealth of the nation. Surely this is not enough for you and your children? With no jobs, no increase in wages, no healthcare, will you be able to leave to your children more than or at least as much as your parents left to you? Are you content to live with less than what is required to retire and live comfortably? Hold people in leadership roles accountable. Work to gain the best of America for self and family. Fail to require more get less. Immigrants come to America expecting more. They leave their homeland and come and gain rewards from jump street. Immigrants get jobs with good pay and Americans remain jobless. Immigrants claim more for themselves and their families. Politicians and CEOs reap monetary rewards, and Americans sulk and complain and settlle for whatever crumbs thrown from the tables of politicians. Demand more gain more. Politicians focus is on 2016 elections. Not on Americans jobs, not wages, not healthcare!

Harvesting Enhanced Notions of Sustainability - H. Joseph Menton

    in Environment

This week we'll be looking at sustainability with H. Joseph Menton. Joseph grew up on a farm in the Midwest and has been working in diverse arenas of health, as well as coaching organic business innovators in one of the "seats of organic culture" in the Western US. He is an expert in this field and a management consultant. Sustainability is an area of lifelong interest, research and passion for Joseph. He is also a long term student of The Urantia Book.

Today, the term “sustainability” is an oft-used buzzword across a wide spectrum of human industry and endeavor as both a measuring stick of current practices as well as a motivating influence in both design and engineering.

It has been said that healthy ecosystems and environments are necessary to the survival of humans and other organisms. In ecology, sustainability refers to how biological systems remain diverse and productive. In more general terms, sustainability is the endurance of systems and processes.

80 years ago The Urantia Book stated this: And now is industry supplementing agriculture, with consequently increased urbanization and multiplication of nonagricultural groups of citizenship classes. But an industrial era cannot hope to survive if its leaders fail to recognize that even the highest social developments must ever rest upon a sound agricultural basis. (68:5.13)

Please join us as we examine the definitions of sustainability and see how a purported revelation of truth, like the Urantia Book, may comment, cross-reference or enhance those definitions, perhaps providing valuable insight into discovering novel directions of inquiry.
