Passport 2 your Passion: Seek, Do, Become. What Does the 'C' word mean to you?

    in Self Help

The 'C' word makes your life work.  It is not something we say, but rather, it is something we think and do. Courage, confidence, committment are all examples of a 'C' word that we must repeat over and over.  We must also act in accordance with out confidence and courage.  Of all the human virtures, courage is the the most important.  Without it, all the other virtures fail.

None of us are born with confidence or courage. We are all born insecure and needing others to sustain us.  But that time passes. We eventually become being that are able to sustain ourselves.  And from here our confidence and courage to act will determine our destiny.

As a parent or grandparent, knowing that confidence and courage are learned behaviors, we must do everythiing in our power to continually enhance and grow our own confidence and to help others achieve thiers.

Bringing Nature Home: How You Can Sustain Wildlife With Native Plants

    in Environment

Biodiversity is something that clearly affects all species. Everything is connected to each other regardless of whether or not it is on a large or small scale. Sometimes the way we garden can actually improve our landscape and at times, can be disastrous. Such is the case with the introduction of invasive species such as Kudzu, Purple loosestrife, etc. Nevertheless, there are choices we can make that can positively impact our landscape according to the plants we select and what we introduce into the landscape. Our choices not only affect our view of the land but can also impact animals, insects and microorganisms that are dependent upon the role of such plants. In essence, human beings have the power to sustain life or destroy it because of these choices. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer will speak to Dr. Douglas Tallamy about his magnificent book, Bringing Nature Home which explores the impact of our choices and what we can do to sustain wildlife in our own back yard! Today’s show is brought to you by LiquidWeb.com the most reliable hosting provider with  24/7 heroic support!  Listeners of today’s show will receive one hundred dollars credit towards Storm Servers, which includes Virtual Private Servers and Dedicated hosting or you can try LiquidWeb’s shared hosting for free for one month by using the coupon code: “orgview”. Please visit LiquidWeb.com and make sure you tell them that you found out about them on the show! Life's Issues with Host Lloyd Rosen

    in Self Help

Life's Issues with Lloyd Rosen and his guest Robert Tremblay & Maxwell Ivey:

Robert Tremblay has been a Management Trainer nationally for 18 years before being diagnosed terminal and surviving after a near death experience that changed my life. Prior I was in Law Enforcement with my last position being named "the youngest chief of police in the country." I left Law Enforcement after various injuries and disillusionment after arresting the entire board of selectman and road agent in my town for conspiracy. Prior to this I was a decorated US Army Veteran. I have been a national Trainer and accredited speaker in sales management and spent many years traveling the country teaching. After my experience I have set a course on writing a book due out in the spring of 15 called "Twenty Seconds". I plan on advocating for my disease and starting a foundation to give back to various charities that assited me during my illness.

Maxwell Ivey a 48 year old totally blind gentleman who grew up in a family of carnival owners. All I ever wanted to do was to continue in my father’s and grandfather’s footsteps and be part of the family business. As you can tell by reading this that isn’t where I ended up. I did help in the business over the years, but couldn’t sustain it after the early death of my father from lung cancer. I then turned to helping people sell their amusement equipment. I do that on my other site the midway marketplace.

Is Social Media Killing Your Small Business?

    in Entrepreneur

Is social media killing your BOP? Small business and medium businesses have grown to rely on social media to help them brand, "connect" and sell thier services. Some businesses pay to "boost" thier posts for a seemingly larger reach, increase thier fan bases and elevate the awareness of thier BOP. Most believe that though the stats are promising, they are not effective. Many businesses are awaking to a space of confusion, dissapointment and discouragement over things like lack of reach, connection and interactions with thier brands. Many people have seen a sharp decline in the amount of people who see thier posts. Many people have put so much time into social media that they are killing thier businesses. Social media is an illusion. Yes....it is "social" Yes, people (about 6%) will see your posts but even General Motors with 50,000 fans has realized that there is no more money and time to be wasted in trying to build the brand with face book.

We Business Hippies have awoken from this illusion as well. We are leaving face book in 2015 and we already have cut it down to no more than 20 minutes a day for our whole social media portfolio. We realized that we were killing our business through our reliance on facebook to carry our networking weight. The truth is, no one in your news feed really cares, they are not going to buy your products enough to sustain your business, They are likely to not even see your posts. "They" are not the problem. We are. So tonight we will chat about this honestly. Where we went wrong, how we have damaged our business and what we are going to do to thrive in this ADD nation. Join in the conversation!
