Terry Smith became an advocate and writer as a result of severe Traumatic Brain Injury sustained in OCS summer training after his freshman year of college. In plan, he was to build a military career, be elected to senate, and then become President of the United States. In reality, he flat-lined twice during brain surgery and woke up from a coma with amnesia. To develop memory, he was to record daily life by writing. Three years later, he returned to college and graduated. He was awarded a writing fellowship with Paramount Pictures in Hollywood. Over the following years, he worked in film and television for 20th Century Fox, Universal Studios, and Orion Pictures. He has written three books – Jason’s Final Coming, Helvena, and Surviving Head Trauma. He is also an award winning playwright - Cherry Street Park, The Funny Thing About Death, and The Bar on 3rd St. His life advocacy is for raising awareness and prevention of TBI. In 1516 Sir Thomas Moore coined the word Utopia… in his book with the same name, he is describing a society possessing near perfect qualities…. Dystopia on the other hand is described as the opposite of that, often characterized by dehumanization, totalitarian governments, disasters or some other cataclysmic decline in society…

The Men of Semper Fidelis distinguishes the relationship a man has with each other, that is like no other. It goes beyond just being men, it’s a brotherhood and last for a life time. These relationships are dedicated to bringing men and youth from all racial backgrounds together and helping them establish true male relationships. Not just pertaining to sports and casual conversations but building a brotherhood. We accomplish this by communicating with each other on how we really feel on the inside and not hiding behind our masks, but be willing to share our secrets and being accountable to each other.
Our goal is not only to build friendships and establish a brotherhood between men & youth, but to be an intricate part of making a difference in the community in which we live. Before our community can change, men not women must change physically, emotionally and spiritually. This is what MSF is all about, changing men/youth lives by building healthy relationships with one another to make an impact in our community by leading, protecting and providing for our families!
