“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face…You must do the thing that you think you cannot do.”
– Eleanor Roosevelt
March is women’s history month and we’re kicking it off Living offScript style. Join me and girlfriends as we talk about how we are discovering freedom in our womanhood by redefining how we see ourselves. We’ll talk about how to conquer fear and release the barriers that keep us from honoring what we’ve been put on this planet to BE and do. Get ready to share, smile, laugh and may even share a tear as we define what it looks like to create the life we want – the life we deserve!
The dictionary defines "ism" as an oppresssive and especially discriminatory attitude or belief. Racism, classism, socialism, capitalism and any other "-ism" that the government can touch or manipulate tend to have been poisonous and detrimental to all areas of life. The late Dr. Frances Cress Welsing in her book titled "The Isis Papers", defines racism/white supremacy as, "the local and global power system and dynamic , structured and maintained by persons who clasify themselves as white, whether consciously or subconsciously determined; which consists of patterns of perception, logic, symbol formation, thought, speech, action and emotional repsonse, as conducted simultaneously in all areas of people activity (economics, education, entertainment, labor, law, politics, religion, sex, and war.); for the ultimate purpose of white genetic survivial and to prevent white genetic annihilation on planet Earth. A planet upon which the vast and overwhelming majority of people are classified as nonwhite (black, brown, red and yelllow) by white skinned people, and all of the nonwhite people are genetically dominant (in terms of skin coloration) compared to the genetic recessive white skin people."
When we look at what is taking place in Flint, Michigan, one has to wonder who is allowing this to continue? What part does racism play? Is it a coincidence that this is coming to the forefront in the middle of a "Presidential Campaign"? Do politicians really serve the people or are they nothing more than puppets being controlled by a larger private corporation?
Join us today as we discuss of the angles of cause, effect and a possible cure of the "-isms."

Mrs. Eatmon was born in 1931 in Boligee City in Green County, Alabama. At age 15 she was raped and out of fear for her family she ended up marrying her assailant. For 30 years, Mary endured the dysfunctional marriage enduring years of abuse and remaining silent not only out of fear but also due to the shame and stigma many victims of abuse suffer.
Mrs. Eatmon will share her story in hopes of letting other women, in similar circumstances; know that they are not alone. She will share resources and insights into how to recognize and break the cycle of abuse.
Now 83 years young, Mrs. Eatmon wrote “NINE HOUSES” to reach out to others and let them know how she no longer accepts mistreatments and attacks; how she realized that her being abused was not her fault; and how she mastered the art of forgiveness and moved on. Hers is an inspirational story of strength and triumph.
