Some months ago I conducted an unscientific online diversity survey to measure the "temperature" and mood of our society toward this ever evolving concept. The results included a sample size of 36 respondents with very interesting comments on the impact and effectiveness of diversity and inclusion (D&I) today. Some answers were understandable. Others were surprising. And still other responses indicate the work that is still needed in to make a significant difference in our world.
How we move D&I from an afterthought to significance is strategically tied to the consistency and commitment organizations throughout our society devote to making D&I a permanent multi-year priority. That indeed remains a tall order to fulfill!
Joining us today is Bill Wells, a member of our Kitchen Cabinet Leadership Team and former Chair of the National Black MBA Association. We’ll discuss the findings and highlight the salient survey points aimed at keeping us on our toes.

Employee health and well-being has become a significant concern for employers around the globe. For the past six years, Buck Consultants at Xerox has surveyed thousands of employers around the world about their workplace wellness programs. The results from this latest research confirm that employers throughout the world continue to invest in wellness, and attribute a clear connection between the health of employees and their families and the health of their business. We’ve found that organizations are committed to promoting health and wellness as a business strategy and they have a desire to expand initiatives in hopes of boosting individual engagement and organizational performance. In practice, however, challenges persist. Employers struggle to find effective approaches to motivate workers to participate and become actively engaged in the wellness programs. There’s also a gap between employers’ stated desire to create a “culture of health” and their assessment of the current status.
Joining us today to talk more about the survey results are Dave Ratcliffe, principal at Buck Consultants at Xerox, and Sheldon Kenton, senior vice president at Cigna Global Employer Sales.

A National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) survey that finds 55 percent of military service members are ill-prepared, financially-speaking, for an emergency, and 77 percent of service members have financial worries.
The survey also finds that:
Nearly half of service members (49 percent) have taken out a loan in the past 12 months, which included sources such as a credit card (18 percent), friends and family (13 percent), or cash advance or payday lender (6 percent).
Twice as many (28 percent service members vs.14 percent general population) have applied for a new credit card in the last 12 months;
Almost six in 10 (58 percent) carry some credit card debt from month to month vs. the general population where only about one in three (34 percent) carry over credit card debt every month;
Twice as many have paid less than the minimum required payment in the last 12 months (6 percent vs. 3 percent); and,
Service members were more than twice as likely to obtain a cash advance from a credit card in the last 12 months (5 percent vs. 2 percent).
Financial worries are of course not just limited to members of the military, and on today’s episode we will talk about how you can take greater control of your personal finances and achieve a greater sense of financial stability.
