    Carol Stratton,Lake Surrender

    in Books

In my first novel, Lake Surrender, I use my love of Michigan lakes to tell a story of a woman struggling with abrupt change and difficult circumstances to see a greater hand at work.

With slices of humor, I write of hardships many face as a single mom, a parent of a disabled child, a displaced employee, a lonely widow and a once homeless young man.

My characters, flawed, live through unnerving stress, like a barefoot water-skier hanging on to the boat connected with one strand of yarn to life. While hanging onto the boat for dear life they find the unwavering patience of God in the most unusual places.

Using my degree in Recreational Therapy I have worked with autistic children, In this novel I wanted a story that would lift their value in the world while at the same time highlight the difficulty raising such a special child.

My first book, Changing Zip Codes: Finding Community Wherever You're Transplanted is a devotional for movers, anecdotes pulled from 22 moves. I have a passion to help families move reminding them they will have a life and community at the other end.

A foot loose and fancy-free freelancer for fourteen years I've now settled down to a regular gig as a reporter for the Mooresville Weekly in Davidson, North Carolina.

Words define me....I love to speak to women's groups such as MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and at national writers' conferences.

Family defines me more. I have a great husband, four grown children and five grandchildren. As far as hobbies I love music and favor bluegrass. If prodded, I will produce a mandolin.

My secret dream was to become a lounge singer. But realizing that dream is a little late to happen, I've found great contentment writing stories to encourage and inspire women. So actually I've chosen the better path.

LaNeka will offer insight into what it means to surrender and how it can positively impact your life. Sometimes, all that is left to do is throw your "Hands Up," not in defeat, but in surrender to God.  None of us have all the answers.  But guess what?  We don't have to!  "That's "The Power of Surrender."

Surrender and Acceptance and Answering Psychic Questions

    in Spirituality

When given the circumstances and what is told to you by a psychic, for confirmation, it is time for acceptance and basically to surrender.  You can't hold onto a bad marriage.  Accept it and move on.  Surrender to whatever is placed in front of you.  That doesn't mean to give up in life it just means to surrender to a situation or relationship.

Revenge is not the answer. Being spiteful is not the answer.  Moving on anf finding the right relationship that works or the right career is the answer.  Letting go of your ego and accepting it is where you need to be.

I will talk in depth about this and I will also take your psychic questions. Remember, you cannot change someone and you cannot make someone love you.

The Surrender Monkeys Hour With Diane Green

    in Music

Glenn Dack is a big believer in the one-man-band.  Surrender Monkeys is Glenn Dack
Surrender Monkeys came about in 2003 because Glenn found himself without a band and couldn’t give up music, he taught himself how to play guitar and has spent the last few years churning out songs and loves writing about tragedy concerning celebrity.
In 2008 he recorded a 12 track album called "Fame in the Fast Lane" which dwelt on various true stories linked with Hollywood, fame and celebrity.
Glenn says he tends to procrastinate a great deal when recording, which often means that 10 songs can take a very long time to complete. Recently he ditched this writing model for something dirtier and quicker...
"Bikini Atoll" (named after the nuclear test island used in the 40's and 50's) is a third of the way to completion. It doesn't really have a theme in the same way that the other albums do, but it does have a concept...Can a really great song work if it's less than 2 minutes in length? “Bikini Atoll" should be finished by December 2012 and much of it can already be downloaded for free at his Soundcloud page:

MORNING TALK WITH THE RED HAWK...RELEASE AND SURRENDER

    in Lifestyle

Good morning, good morning, GOOD morning!!!  HAPPY FRRRIIIDDDDAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!  I can't believe another work week is coming to an end.  Tomorrow is Saturday, it seems like it was JUST Saturday, and I had the great spirit, Ms. Nikki Woods, call into the show.  What a treat that was for me. Anywho, here we are again, coming to the end of what I hope was a great week for you.  It sure was for me!!!  I went to some online training classes, made some great new contacts, that I pray are going to lead me to MY promised land, here on earth, and for the most part, I feel it was a pretty productive week for me.  Oh, oh, oh, let me not forget, I was even able to plant a few, mustard seed sized love offerings, into some well deserving people's lives.  And I'm not saying that to brag, I'm merely mentioning it to let you know, that as skimpy as my budget is, when I'm able to, you better believe I practice what I preach, and that's to share what you have, to bless someone else, no matter how big or how small.  That kind gesture, will do wonders for that person's perspective, as to how they may view the world and its inhabitants, when it comes to where they may be, in their present journey.  Well, with all that being said, today's topic is, RELEASE AND SURRENDER.  The card reads, "We shower you with blessings of our radiant love.  Open your arms, and release the challenges that you've held tightly gripped within your hands.  Open your hands, arms, and heart to our love and assistance."  I'll help you with this one, and we can start with the daily affirmation.  As always, please remember to share the show's link, and my email address for dropping me your issues, or love offerings, via http://www.paypal.com, at redhawk1967@hotmail.com.
