The holiday season can be a very stressful time for those who may have lost loved ones or for those who may not have someone to spend the holidays with. The holidays, however, are not the only time of year when depression and suicide attempts take place. According to the CDC, a suicide takes place in the United States every 12.9 minutes. This is topic that needs to be addressed, so those who are having these thoughts don't suffer in silence. We as a society need to know the signs. It could save someone's life. Our special guest, Kandy Parker will have a candid conversation with us about her attempts at suicide and how she is a SURVIVOR. She will also talk to us about how she now raises awareness about suicide prevention and mental health for women and teens. Join us for this powerful and moving episode.
Kevin Hines, author of 'Cracked not Broken' joins me today to talk about his advocacy for suicide prevention and awareness as well as to promote his new film being released shortly.
