St. Ambrose writes: “What shall I say about his reverence in the worship of God? One episode will suffice. Before being fully initiated into the sublime mysteries (First Communion), he experienced a shipwreck. When the ship on which he was traveling ran aground on some reefs and while, all around, the waves were tearing it apart, he was not afraid of dying but of having to die without having been nourished by the Sacred Mysteries. So he asked for the Eucharist from those whom he knew to be initiated into the Divine Sacrament of the Faithful and placed the Holy Eucharist in a handkerchief, which he hung around his neck. Then he threw himself into the sea and looked for a plank loosened from the hulk of the ship to hang on to, but did not try to swim away to save himself, because he had put his trust only in the weapons of the faith. Since he was convinced that he was sufficiently protected and defended by this faith, he did not look for any other help. “Then, as soon as he was saved from the waves and reached land, he paid tribute to the Leader to whom he had entrusted himself. As soon as he was saved and realized all his servants had been saved, he went to the church of God, without complaining about the goods he had lost, to thank Him for having saved him and to get to know His Eternal Mysteries. He said there was no more important duty than that of giving thanks… He who had experienced the great help of the Heavenly Mysteries wrapped in a handkerchief considered it important to consume the Holy Eucharist and receive the Eucharistic Christ into the depths of his heart.”
"Just a week ago, before the off-year elections, Democratic strategists were feeling bullish about their prospects in the South. In Louisiana, a Democrat had surpassed the state’s senior senator on October 24 in the first round of voting for the next governor. In Kentucky’s gubernatorial race, opinion polls showed Jack Conway, the state’s Democratic attorney general, holding a small but consistent lead over tea-party Republican Matt Bevin. Democrats had high hopes they could take advantage on November 3 of the divisions Bevin has caused among Republicans. But that wasn’t how things played out.Had the Democrats won in Kentucky and prevailed in Louisiana, my guess is we’d be hearing a lot of talk about a Democratic comeback, but it would merely have meant that Democrats in the South had returned to pre-Obama levels of toxicity. As it happens, it looks like Obama remains toxic in Kentucky and possibly—we’ll find out—in Louisiana, too. If Vitter wins, as a scandal-plagued Republican, we can declare Louisiana’s Democratic Party dead and gone. Suffice it to say, Democrats have a very long road back in the South, and it’s unclear when—or whether—they will take the first step."Charlie Cook
99% of the people on this planet have an entirely false understanding of how the world really works and, therefore, they totally misunderstand the true meaning and significance of major events that transpire on the political, social and environmental stages. This misunderstanding is the result of the deliberate dissemination of lies and propaganda by people in positions of power and the mainstream media that propagates these lies and propaganda.
In the two weeks since Russia began bombing ISIS positions in Syria from its airbase in Latakia, the mainstream media, both in the West and in Russia, has crafted a narrative about why this is happening. The Western narrative is that Russia is attempting to support the Assad government. The Russian perspective is that the West has not been effective in defeating the terror group and therefore the Russian military was required to get the job done. While both of these narratives describe basic truths of the situation, the true implications of, and background to Russia's moves in Syria are completely edited out and hidden from the global public record.
Suffice to say that the actions of the Russian government and military over the past few years have massive ramifications for the current world order. It is not an exaggeration to say that the world as we have all know it for 100+ years is on the brink of a profound change. Want to know what that change will involve, and how?

“Men seldom if ever rise to great place from small beginnings without using fraud or force, unless, indeed, they be given, or take by inheritance the place to which some other has already come. Force, however, will never suffice by itself to effect this end, while fraud often will…”

This program will review the Mormon development, teaching and understanding of the Doctrine of Grace in contrast to the Biblical and Christian view of Grace. The false teachings of the Mormon Church has established the unjustified need for Works.
Biblical Grace: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. - Eph 2:8-9
Mormon Grace: ...Grace cannot suffice without total effort on the part of the recipient. Hence the explanation, “It is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do” 2 N 25:23

In 1925, despite an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, Garvey was sent to the Atlanta penitentiary. His The Garvey Letter From an Atlanta Prison is dated February 10, 1925, and excerpted below as follows:
Fellow Men of the Negro Race Greetings
I am delighted to inform you, that your humble servant is as happy in suffering for you and our cause as is possible under the circumstances of being viciously outraged by a group of plotters who have connived to do their worst to humiliate you through me, in fight for real emancipation and African Redemption.
I do not want at this time to write anything that would make it difficult for you to meet the opposition of your enemy without my assistance. Suffice to say that the history of the outrage shall form a splendid chapter in the history of Africa redeemed. When black man will no longer be under the heels of others, but have a civilization and culture of their own.
The whole affair is a disgrace, and the whole black world knows it. We shall not forget. Our day may be fifty, a hundred or two hundred years ahead, let us watch, work, and pray, for the civilization of injustice is bound to crumble and bring destruction down upon the heads of the unjust.
My work is just begun, and when the history of my suffering is complete, then the future generations of the Negro will have in their hands the guide by which they shall know the “sins” of the twentieth century. I, and I know you, too, believe in time, and we shall wait patiently for two hundred years, if need be, to face our enemies through our prosperity."
Psalm 128:2 says: "For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee."
Our quote for today is from Pablo Picasso. He said: "Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone."
Today, in the Get Things Done podcast we are looking at Part 4 of Step 5: "Raise Your Energy Level."
We've discussed exercise and relaxation as methods of fighting procrastination. The third physical aspect that we will deal with is diet. It's a big subject, one we won't go into in depth, but suffice it to say that so far as fatigue is concerned one big culprit is sugar. Most of us eat many times as much sugar as we should.
Lots of people think sugar is supposed to produce energy, but it just isn't true at least not in the way they think. Every week the average American eats more than two pounds of refined sugar, much of it hidden as an ingredient in various manufactured foods (one popular brand of ketchup is 29% sugar!) If eating refined sugar really produced energy, we would be a nation of live wires and lethargy would be unknown.
It is true that low blood sugar means less energy, but the proper way to maintain the right amount of sugar (glucose) in your blood is through a balanced diet. When you zap your system with refined sugar (sucrose) you trigger the release by the pancreas of large amounts of insulin to counteract the sugar shock, and this insulin overcompensates, resulting in a much lower bloodsugar level than you originally had. And one result of this process is fatigue. It sounds complicated, but that's the way it works. (There are other undesired effects of too much sugar, including weight gain and dental cavities, but this isn't the place to go into that.)

The world has an option for dealing with lethal extremists, but does it have the gumption?
We've reached an age where every believer, regardless of that which is the focus of his or faith, or lack thereof, be subject to a lie detector exam. A short survey would suffice - specifically, are you okay with attempted forced conversion? If the answer is yes, the evil would be supplied with a free set of retinal scans and tossed away from U.S. - to reside elsewhere. 2) Why are people like the '09, Fort Hood Massacre even still alive?
There are certainly Atheists which are as dangerous as any lethal, religious zealot.
The program is going to get very, very interesting. We are going to take on the difference(s) between Right-wing, extremism and lethal radicalism. Is Christianity truly the offspring of Catholicism?
We will also be discussing why fundamentalism is FAR from a 4-letter word - essentially why they can be a good thing - collectively speaking.
This episode of Pneumatikos will explore the power of the Spirit to suspend the practice of the works of the flesh in our lives. We cannot cease the will of the flesh by mere volition. We must depend upon the Spirit's power to deliver us from so great a foe. Mere psychological scrunity will not suffice, we can only defeat the will of the flesh through God's power. If God is for us who or what can stand against us?
From Robert Freeman, "I was once a well conditioned and idealistic young police officer who wanted to help and protect people and after many years in that profession I came to understand things are not quite what there seemed. Unltimately my police career ended and I am now a retired policeman in a continual fight for my entitlements as a sufferer of PTSD and the clinical depression which accompanies that change in my human function. I am an Australian male born in 1960 in a large rural town in the south eastern area of this country. My father was a sportsman and trucking contractor while mum was a nurse prior to the commencement of the family. I am second of four children and the eldest of three brothers. I joined the police cadets as a 16 year old in 1977. I was a country boy and city life was completely foreign to me. The saving grace was we lived in an old 1930's hotel near the main railway station in Melbourne. I loved the cadet training. I excelled in most all the aspects of this training and while I completed and graduated high school from the cadet academy I was also voted as the Senior Cadet. My first real notable experience came in the latter part of 1977 when after we had returned from a tour of Tasmania. I had a strange experience there I had what I would describe as my 'Jesus' experience. This was about the 20th August 1977. I felt there was a presence in the room (I was alone in my room at the academy this weekend after our trip, and I felt the urge to give my truth to Jesus Christ). I was not a religious person as such and I was not made to attend church as a boy growing up. The story about how my police career came to a halt and what transpired during the period leading to that and the occurrences which followed are intertwined and quite interesting. Suffice it to say my life was in the process of an irreversible transition".
