Mercedes Kirkel, an award winning author and channel for Mary Magdalene is with us tonight to share the information she received and documented in her book, Sublime Union: A Woman's Sexual Odyssey Guided by Mary Magdalene. Mercedes will speak about the meaning of sacred sexuality and how Mary Magdalene is associated with it. She'll give examples of the instruction she believes she received and tell us of her experiences when she engaged in the practices.
Sublime concepts of monotheism matured all over the world not long after the appearance of Machiventa Melchizedek at Salem in Palestine. The progress of the Hebrews was not an unbroken and continuous development; and they borrowed freely from the religion, morality, and philosophy of the entire Levant. It is through the Hebrew religion that much of the morality and religious thought of Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Iran was transmitted to the Occidental peoples.

John Lennon's Sublime Retort About Dealing Wigh Your Adversaries
Come and join me, Kiler Davenport and Josephine Ranes as we explore a wide variety of issues that manifest themselves in a very complex world. We will focus on solutions, empowerment, measurable and quantifiable results. We will talk about knowing when to stop when things aren't working and move in a different direction.
Josephine and I will talk about America's chronic addiction to Face Book and other social media that have no bearing on physical reality. We will talk about the need for more physical warriors.
We wil go from the sublime to the insane, from the serious to the down right silly. We will probe this universal consciousness and travel beyond the c constant. Come and join us for a powerful show.
Norman Howell (born May 11, 1973, Hartford, Connecticut), better known as Notch, is an R&B, reggae, dancehall and reggaeton artist. He was the former lead vocalist and one of the creative force behind the hip hop-reggae act,Born Jamericans. He grew up in a multicultural neighborhood. Notch learned how to speak Spanish because most of his friends at that time were of Hispanic descent. Notch is fluent in American English, Jamaican Patois, and Spanish. Some songs can be heard with him mixing all three, a mixture he calls 'Spatoinglish'. He has worked with Daddy Yankee, Luny Tunes, Voltio, Baby Ranks, Thievery Corporation, Sublime, Pitbull, T-Weaponz and Rascalz. Notch provided the vocals on the songs "The Richest Man in Babylon", "Amerimacka" and "Blasting Through the City" produced by Thievery Corporation.
Born in Barcelona, our guest on 11/19/2014 has made QUITE a splash in his adopted country. Besides the fact that he just voted for the first time - as an American citizen :) Oscar Penas (I can't wait to say his last name: PEA Nyas!) is a gifted guitarist, composer and bandleader with a new CD that is, indeed, bragworthy. "Music of Departures and Returns" is full of inspirations that captivate Oscar - who has discussed the reasons why he was so drawn to Jazz after his childhood studies in Classical Music. He relished the idea of creating melodies and interacting with other musicians. Pat Metheny and Wayne Shorter were sparks that goaded him early on. Then, the music of Pixinguinha - the flamenco music of Spain that was so infused inside of him - all the ingredients that would define the intoxicating stew of Oscar's music - were taking shape. This is a gentleman who has won the "ASCAP Plus Award" - so SOMETHING's working :)
Oscar is visiting us for two reasons. One, he's performing at the prestigious Strathmore in Bethesda, Maryland, in the next few days. We certainly wanted to call attention to that. Secondly, this new album, Oscar's fourth, is full of music that enriches the soul. Esperanza Spalding and Paquito D'Rivera are featured - as is producer, arranger and pianist, Gil Goldstein. He also focuses on quartet: six-string electric bassist Moto Fukushima, drummer Richie Barshay, and the world-class violinist, Sara Caswell.
Besides being an alluring guitarist - both intelligent and earthy - Oscar is a wise man. He knew that, after his education at Berklee and the New England Conservatory, he would have to stand out in the sea of sublime artistry that populates New York City. So, he dug deeply, honoring his roots and his passion for Jazz. The results will make your ears thank you :)
Oh, yes, I HEAR you! "What? Where has she BEEN?!" Hah! We all missed her, didn't we? We'll get those Where's Waldo answers tomorrow - when Joyce Cooling visits us at three p.m. Eastern time! Remember that - for Tuesday, 11/18 - the show STARTS at TWO. We'll have three two-hour shows this week!
Back to our sublime guest: Joyce has been making beautiful music with her guitar for QUITE a while now. Self-taught, her influences and inspirations range from Brazilian to Classical to Rock - and it all pours forth into a pulsating, dynamic and driving deliciousness that is profoundly JAZZ!
#1 radio singles, six Top Ten, multiple music awards - and nominated for several others. "Global Cooling" was her seventh studio album and that was released in 2009.
Well, it HAS been quite an absence on the scene...and the reason for this visit from Joyce (a reunion!) is specific: she has a new HOLIDAY single! Produced by longtime producer, Jay Wagner, "The Holiday's On" is meant to convey a 1940's Swing era vibe with a spin that's infectious :) We'll hear it - and more tracks that are meaningful - and we'll talk to Joyce about a favorite subject: mental health. This fascinating artist has worked with some of the best in the business (Stan Getz, Charlie Byrd, Al Jarreau!) and has made friends all over the world. But the urgency of her life's path has much to do with the focus on keeping us emotionally afloat. That's why Joyce is a national advocate for NAMI: the National Alliance for Mental Health. As we near Thanksgiving and get into gear for the season, nothing is more important that focusing attention on how we're coping. How we can help ourselves and help others live better lives. Please join us for a SPECIAL "Hybrid Jazz!" 11/18/2014.
