The Outbreak of the First World War and Consequences for Western Civilization

    in Politics

The 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the  First World War is upon us.  When the Austro- Hungarian armies army crossed the Serbian border on August 10th, 1914, the peoples of Europe, who had  enjoyed the longest consecutive period of peace in 1,000 years were entirely unaware that their lives and the civilization they had built would soon be consumed in a conflagration that would  sweep away it away.   Lost in time and obscured by the even more catastrophic events of the Second World War, the Great War nevertheless provided a watershed in world history as nations, monarchies, empires and long venerated institutions came tumbling down, leaving ruins which it would take nearly 75 years to rebuild.  What were the causes of this catastrophe?  What were the consequences for the West and how relevant are the lessons of that  First World War to our contemporary world? .  These and other issues will be addressed by this important AFA  Conference of the Air featuring Sean McMeekin ( author of July 1914); Douglas Bardow ( Cato Institute); Diana West (author of Death of the Grown Up); David Pryce Jones ( author of The Closed Circle) and Richard Weikart ( author of Darwin to Hitler)

    Motherhood... The Key to Civilization

    in Culture

The Mothership has landed! “Motherhood is the key to creating a thriving, healthy, prosperous civilization, because mothers produce both male and female children and are the first teachers of all mankind.”

Mothering is the oldest profession and the most revered among civilized societies. All civilized people realize the value of the mothering aspect of life and invest heavily in the conscious development of females, for in this the nation becomes strong. Mothers cannot escape the responsibility they have. Mothers are supremely responsible for the character development of her children both males and females.

How can a man born of a woman ever be superior to her or subjugate her? Is not this belief a pathology born of an inferior comprehension of life? Males and females are by nature equal and must learn to calibrate their being in harmony so that they can create a world of peace.

Our guest joining us tonight is author of the book, "Journey From Lunatic to LunaQueen." and "Selma The Spiritual Significance of the Right to Vote Movement: Helen "Myeka" Edmond-Bevel, and, author of Slavery: The African American Psychic Trauma, When Nations Gather, and The Female Solution Naimah Latif.

“The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.”

LET'S GET READY TO EVOLVE INTO HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS...

A CHURCHILLIAN MOMENT FOR WESTERN CIVILIZATION

    in Politics Conservative

As we face an existential threat from Iran, Susan Rice calls Netanyahu’s speech “destructive”.  Susan E. Rice, President Obama’s national security adviser, sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel on Tuesday over his plans to address a joint meeting of Congress, saying his actions had hurt his nation’s relationship with the United States.

The petulant president refused to meet with the Prime Minister or to even watch the speech.  A number of Democrats boycotted, which was a blessing because demand for tickets was about ten times higher than supply.  People intuitively understood that this speech would be consequential, unlike Obama’s endless blathering.  When Netanyahu speaks, he does so with clarity and purpose.

Avi Davis is the President of the American Freedom Alliance, the editor of The Intermediate Zone whose work has appeared in hundreds of papers and periodicals throughout the world including the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer, The Australian and regularly in The American Thinker.

NBA: Eastern and Western Conference first round previews

    in Basketball

With the regular season finished, the NBA Playoffs are set to get under way on Saturday. The seeds are set, and we'll go through each first round matchup in both conferences. Outside of Golden State, does any team seem to have an easy matchup in its opening series? With how loaded the Western Conference is, it seems like anything is possible outside of the Warriors advancing.

In the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks may have the top spot, but the Cleveland Cavaliers have been the better team overall since the All Star break. Do the LeBron-led Cavs have a sweep in front of them in the Boston Celtics? Outside of Atlanta and Cleveland in the first round, like the West, anything seems possible.
