Stuck At The Cross
As Easter approaches, this Sunday will be filled with sermons emphasizing the death the burial and the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! New outfits, hairdo's, haircuts and the likes will be in over abundance as many commemorate what was accomplished on Calvary's Hill!
Do not think for one moment that the value of what was accomplished on the cross should ever be diminished, as it was the means by which God chose to bring man back into proper fellowship with Him after the fall of Adam. There had to be an atoning sacrifice that would cover man's sin and allow him access to the Father. All of this was done through Jesus' death on the cross.
The cross was the means through which we regained access! Now access is the good news. We are no longer alienated, but have been bought nigh to the Father through the blood of Jesus.
Is it possible that we have not entered into the fulness of relationship with the Father because we are stuck at the cross? Has the cross become the idol, when its purpose was only to bridge the gap between God and man? Is there a conspiracy occuring in most messages today that keep people ever coming to the means but never the end?

Painful emotional memories don't have to keep you stuck!
Emotions have been said to have no words. Well, l I know I've given them plenty of words when I was in emotional pain. However, keeping them under control was something like trying to wrap a blanket around a wild animal to contain it. It might work initially, but I still had a wild animal trying to get out. There must be a better way to work with painful emotions other than caging them, telling the story of how the wild animal came into your life, and why you kept it as some kind of trophy or talking point.
