America has always been called the "melting pot" but the past few years, that melting pot has reached a boil and if you have been on social media, you've seen all of the hashtags.
Even the Huffington Post recently decided to release an article on the topic of race and dating (http://huff.to/1AcI9ty). There has been a lot of dialogue about the issue of race and its impact in all facets of life. On this episode of The Strong Stance, we will open the dialogue on gender, race and interracial dating because the reality is that we aren't as progressive as we like to think we are. The reality is that race and gender do play critical roles in our relationships and how outsiders view those connections--more than we admit in public, polite society.
Tune into this show as we talk about the reality and the misconceptions of interracial dating. In what ways do race and gender identity play a role in who we have romantic relationships with? Is the personal really political? And for all the prejudice and expectations that are heaped on couples that come from different backgrounds, is that hardship lessened in the LGBTQ community, or is it just more of the same?

The Arizona Cardinals saw their season come to an end with a 27-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs. Jess and Seth look at the playoff disaster and what went wrong, not only in that game, but also in the final few games. Then, they look back at the season and reflect on how it was. Would it have been better to have missed the playoffs than make it and not perform well at all?
Then, the hosts give end of season awards -- MVPs, surprises and disappointments.
The next show will get into offseason issues for the Cardinals.
Make sure to head on over to Revenge of the Birds to continue the conversation.

A Single Sistah’s Bedtime Prayer
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man who will not creep.
One who’s handsome, smart and strong,
And able to admit when he is wrong.
One who thinks before he speaks
And doesn’t disappear for weeks.
I pray that he’s gainfully employed,
And won’t clam up when he’s annoyed.
Please send me a man who’ll open my door,
Pull out my chair and want to do more.
Send me a man who’ll make love to my mind,
But who knows what to do when he hits it from behind.
One who’ll make love till my body’s twitching,
And bring ME a sandwich too, when he comes
back from the kitchen!
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And will not try to sleep with my best girlfriend.
I pray this prayer in Jesus’ name,
Oh, and by the way Lord, deliver me from weak
Thank You in advance and now I’ll just wait,
For I know You’ll send him before it’s too

No where is leadership excellence more important than in the church. In corporate and marketplace contexts, poor leadership has the potential to negatively affect quarterly earnings. In the context of the church, however, poor leadership has the potential to negatively affect people's souls. We live in a culture where the potential impact of leadership has been reversed - more emphasis is placed on developing leaders who affect the bottom line than on developing leaders who affect people's eternities.
Dr. Stephen L. Kalaluhi earned his doctorate in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Ecclesial Leadership from Regent University’s School of Business and Leadership, and is now the executive director and founder of the Center for Excellence in Leadership. As a John Maxwell Team leadership trainer, speaker, and coach, Stephen has quickly become the premier leadership solutions provider to ministry leaders who recognize the criticality of leadership to their church’s success, and to ministry leaders who aren’t afraid of admitting their need for help. The author of The Crux of Leadership: How to Lead When Souls Are On The Line, and creator of the Leadership Excellence Training Systems ministry leader certification program, Dr. Kalaluhi’s heart for empowering leaders to lead with all diligence is what he believes he was created for.

The Arizona Cardinals lost for the second week in a row, falling to 9-3 after a 29-18 loss to the Atlanta Falcons...the previously 4-7 Falcons. Needless to say, things are starting to feel uncomfortable in the desert. They have lost two straight games and have looked bad doing so.
They also suffered a number of key injuries. Seth and Jess talk about the significance of these injuries and if Arizona has just had too many.
Seth and Jess also talk about the bad and the bright spots from the game. They look ahead at the Cardinals' playoff chances and what what, if any, changes need to happen.
