One of the greatest security measures that you can take comes in canine form. We have had dogs around since the ice age. Not for their good looks and demeanor. In particular I recommend the pit bull. Whatever that is. There are hundreds of brindled terrier mutts, Staffordshire terrier, bull terrier and American Staffordshire Terriers like my boy Baxter. Now I know I will get the knee jerk crowd that tells me how much they know about my dog and his behavior though they don’t even have dogs. Truth is there is no more loyal, loving and intelligent a breed.

Dog training and behavior expert and host, Julie Forbes, talks about working with reactive dogs effectively to decrease their reactivity and increase their confidence. Every dog is different, but there are some common themes that she has seen in over twelve years of working with dog behavior. Then Julie dives into the topic of leadership with your dog. What does it mean to be an authority to your dog? Are you supposed to be the "alpha"? Over 90% of Julie Forbes' private dog training clients have been women. Working with dogs brings up a lot around the topic of leaderhsip and women's relationship with their bodies. Tune in for this very informative and thought-provoking discussion. Yes folks the world is turning upside down again. I believe it was a week ago that Obama was bragging about ending foreign wars and now he submits a request to Congress to go back into Iraq! Manly men Charlie Sheen and Mark Wahlberg come out of the closet. Cats marry dogs...well not yet but don't be surprised if someone wants to marry their dog, or sister, or suitcase. These are crazy times and there are some crazy folks out there, not the least of which are the politicians we elect. Even Joe Biden was talking about one of his “butt buddies” in Iowa this week.
Host and dog training and behavior specialist Julie Forbes talks with Leah Espy who works with Young Living pure essential oils. Julie met Leah at the Seattle Kennel Club Dog Show this spring. How might essential oils help your dog and why Young Living? Then the conversation shifts to Julie sharing her expertise about puppies. She's fitting in as much info as she can about puppies and what you need to know about how to respond to common puppy challenges like housetraining, mouthing, chewing, and socialization.
