    Gardasil: Subterfuge in a Syringe?

    in Current Events

Join us in this episode of Global Freedom Movement Radio, as we speak to the President and Secretary of SANEVax, Freda Birrell and Norma Erickson, about the Gardasil (HPV) vaccine.

With an international presence in 157 countries, SaneVax was created when mysterious illnesses began to plague young women around the world. It has since been discovered that there are disturbing correlations between the Gardasil vaccine and serious health problems, such as Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis, Chlymydia, Infertility, Purpura, spontaneous abortions, and stillbirth.

    Join us to discover more!

Norma Erickson, President of SaneVax, strongly believes every medical consumer has the right to complete and accurate information regarding the risks as well as the benefits of vaccines prior to deciding whether a particular vaccine is right for them. After all, informed consent is a basic human right.

As an author, and after writing multiple stories about the horrendous events being experienced after HPV vaccinations, Norma felt it her personal responsibility to try and find out what was wrong. The discoveries made during that research led directly to the concept and creation of SaneVax Inc.

Freda Birrell, Secretary of SaneVax works to educate politicians in the United Kingdom and Europe as to the need for formal investigations regarding the safety and efficacy of HPV vaccines. Freda’s primary concern is for the safety and well-being of all children and young women who have suffered adverse events following HPV vaccination. Along with other board members,  Freda strives to help families from all over the world whose daughters have experienced serious health issues after vaccination with either Gardasil or Cervarix.

The treatment of home birth Midwives & how it affects communities

    in Family

Last week, Utah press reported that grandmother midwife Vickie Sorensen had been jailed and charged with manslaughter for a stillbirth or neonatal death that occurred in December 2012.  The press reported that Vickie's home had been raided by armed police with cadaver dogs the year before, on an allegation that she was burying dead babies in her backyard.  The press failed to mention that there were no dead babies in the backyard, and it failed to comment on the affect such a raid had on the Sorensen family, and the Utah midwifery community in general.

TODAY Gena will interview Human Rights in Childbirth founder Hermine Hayes-Klein and midwifery activist Katie McCall about the legal treatment of home birth midwives like Sorensen.  How does the treatment of home birth midwives affect women's right to choose for home birth?  What are the human rights implications of the difference between what doctors face after a bad maternity care outcome, and what midwives face?

    in Health

"Rainbow babies" are babies who are conceived after women have experienced a stillbirth or after a baby has died. We will discuss the process one woman has decided to go through in order to have her own rainbow baby, who is helping her and how others who have lost a baby to a congenital heart defect might find hope in giving birth to a healthy baby.

What are the concerns a mother might have in getting pregnant again after having lost a child to a congenital heart defect? What is the likelihood a woman will have more than one child with a congenital heart defect? How do women deal with infertility after having lost a baby to stillbirth or death? These are some of the issues we will address during this episode.

    PREGNANT WOMEN AND GOVERNMENT CONTROL

    in Current Events

A South Carolina woman was charged with homicide after she had a stillbirth; a Utah woman gave birth to twins, when one died she was arrested and charged with homicide because she decided to delay a C-section.  An Oregon woman who didn’t have the test for gestational diabetes her doctor wanted was arrested; a woman from Louisiana spent about a year in jail for murdering her fetus when she had a stillbirth.  Outrageous?  Absolutely.  Unusual?  Not so much.  More and more the “authorities” are intervening in cases that used to be a woman’s personal business.  Is it a coincidence that there are so many states putting restrictions on abortions?  Lynn Paltro, a Cornell University and New York University School of Law graduate, is founder and Executive Director of National Advocates for Pregnant Women.  She’ll join us as we talk about women and civil rights, health , and state control.

    in Women

Elizabeth Berrien, Published Author, Speaker, Co-founder of The Respite: A Centre for Grief & Hope, Founder of Soul Widows
Elizabeth Berrien is a published author who co-founded the non-profit The Respite: A Centre for Grief & Hope and also founded the organization Soul Widows, for young widows age 60 and under. Her personal journey through grief began at the age of 27 when she lost her son to stillbirth in 2008, followed by the death of her late husband, a Special Forces soldier, in 2009. These two consecutive losses catalyzed her to create a space for other women suffering heartache and upheaval. As she sought community and healing, she began Soul Widows in 2010, only seven months after the death of her husband. She currently facilitates monthly Soul Widows support groups and retreats for other women who have lost their spouse or partner. In 2011, she met two incredible women with their own stories of loss, and together they founded The Respite: A Centre for Grief & Hope, which provides a variety of integrative services for people coping with all types of loss. She continues to inspire and provide hope to others grieving by sharing her story and through her writing.
Her most recent projects include the publishing of her book, "Creative Grieving: A Hip Chick's Path from Loss to Hope" (available July 2013) as well as being a co-author in the book "In the Spirit of Abundance" (Hayhouse, available summer 2013.)
