Get Out The Vote with Activist Stella Antley!
This show is dedicated to the memory of
Octavius Catto ~In 1871, during the the first election in which blacks could vote, Octavius Catto was murdered by a Democratic party operative while canvassing for Republican candidates.
On his way back from the polls, Catto, who had spearheaded a get-out-the-vote drive for black voters, was shot in the back by a political opponent.
Catto’s funeral was the city’s largest to date. His assassination rallied his supporters in the Republican Party, which would dominate Philadelphia politics for the next 80 years, thanks in part to black support. Succeeding generations of African Americans named buildings and professional organizations after him. But by the middle of the 20th century, as the civil rights movement turned its attention to desegregating the South and ensuring housing equality in the North, Catto had become, as his graveside monument proclaims, a “Forgotten Hero.” As perhaps the only historical figure who has been compared to both George Steinbrenner and Rosa Parks, he’s worth remembering.
The first full-length biography of Catto, Tasting Freedom: Octavius Catto and the Battle for Equality in Civil War America, was published in 2010. It is available for purchase at the National Constitutional Center’s gift shop.
His death was a harbinger of a new era in race relations in which the achievement of full civil rights for African Americans would be a dream long deferred.

She Awakened to the Awe of God
Bob Proctor, from the series, The Secret, say that we hear with our ears, but we listen with our emotions. It is like the difference between respect and reverence. We respect with the mind, but reverence is woven into the emotions leaving you with a sense of personal wonder and awe. It overwhelms, swallows and engulfs you. Reverence creates AWE. And AWE takes our breath away.
Awe is born out of a divine encounter which morphs what you are. It is not a change. It is a complete reworking of your inner being.
Proverbs 31:30, says that Chayil was a woman that feared the Lord. She had come alive to the knowledge of her own insignificance; yet she was aware that she was infinitely loved by God.
The first characteristic of a true Chayil woman is realizing her value to God. It is the awareness that she has a place in the universe by God’s own doing. She knows that regardless of what circumstances she might face in life, the solution has already been crafted.
The flip side of the coin of reverence is Godly fear. Not fear as in being afraid, but a fear rooted in being accountable for what you have been given and an extreme fear of the one who gave it to you.
It is a fear that knows one day you will have to give an account of how you spent your TALENTS. We are all expected to produce something out of what has been placed in us. God wants fruit out of our lives. He will come looking for how we manifested our PURPOSE / WITH / PURITY / AND POWER.
A Chayil Woman is alive to the AWE of GOD. She Fears with HONOR her LORD and responds with HOLINESS in HEART. And she is inclined to manifest it in her life.
AWAKENING to the AWE of GOD is the topic of the next episode of Better Life With Stella.

"Who can find a VIRTUOUS (CHAYIL) woman..."
Few people realize that the word virtuous is translated from the Hebrew word CHAYIL.Chayil in its original framework is ESHET CHAYIL meaning woman of VALOR. It is great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle. It implies bravery & courage-—doing what frightens you. Or pluck--the kind of daring that enables you to quickly remove someone from a dangerous or unpleasant situation. She is audacious—taking bold risks with confidence.
50% of the time this word is translated, it is in the context of VICTORIOUS WARFARE. 25% of the time it is in the context of wealth and the ability to acquire it. When you add all this up, CHAYIL is an allegorical woman who knows how to fight and win the battle for the home marketplace and community. Chayil is the wealth of Deuteronomy 8:18 & Proverbs 13:22. And she uses that wealth to establish the Kingdom of God.
“Chayil changes everything we thought we knew about the VIRTUOUS WOMAN.”
Chayil is a representation of the Body of Christ for our time. She is a symbol of what the Kingdom of God can do to release the will of God on earth as it is in heaven. This is the season for the Wealth of Chayil and the Wisdom of the Chayil Woman to manifest. It is time for her to arise, to shine.
Isaiah 60:1-3 Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. 2 for behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. NKJV

You might wonder why I shifted the description of this woman from the traditional word virtuous to the word wealth. There is good reason.
In verse 10 of Proverbs 31, the word virtuous is a translation of the Hebrew word Chayil or (Eshet Chayil - Woman of valor). Chayil is found in two other notable places in scripture that are relevant to today. It is mentioned in Deuteronomy 8:18 But thou shall remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that gives thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto thy fathers, as it is this day. KJV. The word wealth here is Chayil.
Then again in Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. KJV the word wealth here is also the Hebrew word Chayil.
Eshet Chayil speaks to the concept of CAPACITY to see, create and generate. It refers to the ability to acquire WEALTH using the mind. Chayil and Solomon both managed to learn how to access the mind of God for wisdom to get wealth. This book will show you how to do the same thing!
In todays episode we will explore the deeper menaing of the word VIRTUOUS, How it compares to the word CHAYIL and the difference it makes to how we utilize this knowledge in advancing the cause of the kingdom of God.

When The Stellas took their first trip to Nashville in 2008, they were still a relatively unknown husband-and-wife duo from the Toronto suburbs, armed with little more than two voices, one acoustic guitar, and a catalog of smart, catchy songs.
These days, The Stellas are songwriters who have written 90% of the material on their own albums, as well as songs for other artists. They’re parents of Lennon and Maisy, who star as Maddie & Daphne on ABC's "Nashville."
For Brad and MaryLynne Stella, the turning point occurred during a short trip to Nashville. While there, they talked their way into playing an impromptu show at the Commodore Grill, which led to a second show the following night. A publisher was in the audience that evening, and he liked what he heard. The Stellas were offered a deal on the spot. A year later, they were on the hit CMT show "Can You Duet?", moved to Nashville and signed a record deal with EMI Canada. They took home the CCMA trophy for "Duo of the Year" in 2013.
Back in America, one of The Stellas' biggest fans, Zac Brown, asked the duo to join his band for a series of sold-out shows. Brad and MaryLynne have also toured with Johnny Reid & Terri Clark.
"Back when we first started our career," Brad remembers, "we came across a lot of musicians who had a 'woe is me' story. They used to live in their car, or they had to wait tables for years before signing a record deal. We had that story, too, but we didn't view it as a negative thing, we thought of it more like camping! We wouldn't trade it for anything.”
"In some ways, we're making a first impression all over again," MaryLynne says of their new record. “This is the album we always wanted to make."
