What's Hot: Big Ben's ranking, Le'Veon's knee and the '95 Steelers

    in Football

With no new news surrounding Tom Brady and Deflategate, we're going to spend more time discussing Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who was ranked as the No.3 best quarterback in the NFL according to NFL.com'sElliott Harrison. We'll break down Big Ben's ranking along with sharing with you our top-10 quarterback list.

We'll also delve into the potential PAT changes to be voted on this week by the NFL owners. What are the new options for the PAT? And what does this mean for the Steelers? We'll address these questions while offering our thoughts on what should happen to the PAT.

In an interview with ESPN last week, Le'Veon Bell touched on several topics that included marijuana and the status of his right knee. We'll recap the interview and discuss whether or not Steelers fans should be worried about No.26's knee heading into next season.

It's hard to believe it's been 20 years since the 1995 Steelers captured the franchise's first AFC title since the  '79 Steelers. We'll go back to the '90s and relive the greatest moments from that magical season that ended with a spirited battle against the Cowboys in Super Bowl XXX.

We want to hear the voice of Steelers Nation, so feel free to call the show at (347) 850-8581 to join us in our conversation of the Black and Gold. What's Hot: DeflateGate, Steelers Rookie Minicamp, the Madden Curse & more

    in Football

On this episode of "What's Hot" Chris and I will discuss how Tom Brady's suspension affects the Steelers Week 1 showdown with New England while giving you a preview of the Patriots' new starting quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo. We'll then take a look at the career of Ed Reed in comparison to Polamalu, and the possibility that they could end up in the same Hall of Fame class in 2021.

We'll also take a look at the Steelers newest players after their first week in Pittsburgh while giving our 2015 Steelers rookie predictions. Chris and I will then take you back to 1975 (but without bell bottoms and disco music) and discuss the most memorable moments from the Steelers Super Bowl X winning team. While the conversation will surely tackle a multitude of plays and moments from that season, it's safe to say that Jack Lambert's throw-down of Cliff Harris in Super Bowl X will be discussed.

We'll also talk about the fabled Madden Curse and why or why not it was a good thing for the Steelers that Antonio Brown did not make the Final Four of current players up for the cover shot on this year's game.

Steelers fans young and old are encouraged to call in during the show to discuss the night's topics as well as anything else Steelers or NFL-related. Call (347) 850-8581 any time during the show to make your voice heard!

Pittsburgh Steelers: Analyzing the 2015 Draft class, Deflate-Gate and more

    in Football

Join myself and co-host Lance Williams tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET for the latest edition of 'The Standard is the Standard'. On tonight's show you can expect to hear plenty of talk regarding the New England Patriots 'Deflate-Gate' scandal, as well as talk about the implications the punishment would have on the opening game of the 2015 season when the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Foxborough.

Other than talk about footballs with slightly less PSI than what they should be, we are going to be analyzing the 2015 NFL draft class. Who did the team reach for? Was there a position of need which was ignored? Should this class ease some of the concerns of fans heading into 2015?

All these questions and more to be answered tonight from 9-10 p.m. ET on our BlogTalkRadio page.

We want you to make the conversation a discussion by calling in anytime during the live show. Simply call (347) 850-8581. What's Hot: Pittsburgh Steelers 2015 Draft, AFC North Grades and more

    in Football

"What's Hot" will get you up to date with the most recent NFL news, which currently is the aftermath of the NFL Draft. We'll discuss who will have the better career between Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston along with the reason why the Cowboys didn't draft a running back to replace DeMarco Murray.

We'll talk plenty about the Steelers draft, what you need to know about all eight draft picks and which rookie we think will make the biggest impact in 2015. We'll also see how the rest of the AFC North did in the draft along with trying to figure out what happened in the second round between the Steelers, Ravens, and Baltimore rookie tight end Maxx Williams.

As we all know, the Steelers have a rich history that very few franchises in professional sports can match. Talking about our team's great moments from the past and sharing our memories of those moments will be a staple of "What's Hot". Tomorrow night, we'll look back at our favorite moments from the 1975 Super Bowl X champions, the 1995 AFC Champions (as is the unwritten rule of BTSC, we will refrain from saying the name of one player from that team) and the 2005 Super Bowl XL championships team.

Be sure to tune in LIVE Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

    Ravens-Steelers Playoff Pregame Show

    in Football

Its playoff time so be sure to Join Alan Zlotorzynski for the Baltimore Ravens Pregame Show starting tonight at 6:30. Tonight’s show is sponsored by Fanspeak.com, EarnestByner21.com and Mouthin Off Sports Talk.

The Ravens will again head to Heinz Field for a postseason tilt tonight and they will be looking to author a new chapter in the storied matchup between the heated rivals. The fierce rivalry between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens has taken to the postseason on three previous occasions. All three matchups took place in Pittsburgh, and all ended with a Steelers victory.

The Ravens did not control their own destiny heading into the final week of the regular season, but took care of business with a 20-10 victory over Cleveland and benefited from San Diego's loss to Kansas City. The combination secured Baltimore's sixth postseason berth in seven seasons and first since its Super Bowl title following the 2012 season. Any sort of title run this year will have to happen away from Baltimore, which will be on the road throughout the AFC playoffs as the sixth seed.

Alan and special guest, former Ravens, Browns and Redskins RB, Earnest Byner will tell you how exactly that will happen for the Ravens in 2015. You will hear from some of the participants in tonight’s and be given all of the important stats and information necessary to enjoy tonight’s Wildcard matchup.

Showtime is 6:30 and will run right up to kickoff.

Steelers now control their own destiny to make the playoffs

    in Football

In this episode of the Terrible Towel Tantrum, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Rudy Reyes and Troy Otradovec will talk about their big road win, in Atlanta.  The Steelers now control their own destiny to make the playoffs.  The Falcons did a great job holding LeVeon Bell to a mere 47 yards rushing, and many times he was held for no gain.  Therefore, the Steelers relied on the arm of Ben Roethilsberger, and he came through. This not only gives the Steelers a great chance to make the playoffs, it keeps the division title, within reach also. Listen in and call the show.
