Current Events and the Convention of States

    in US Government

Since last week's episode was devoted entirely to our great interview with Joy Davis, Chief of Staff for my State Representative DeWayne Burns, we missed our normal news update.

So today, we're going to cover the last two weeks of news, spend a little bit longer fleshing out each story, and do the real easy work of concluding that the only real fix is for the States to reclaim the authority given them in the Constitution.  Only an Article V "convention for proposing amendments" is going to curtail the continuous abuse.

And, we'll allow time for your phone calls.

Interview with Stewart Collins, Convention of States Volunteer in Florida

    in US Government

So, you're convinced that a Convention of States via Article V is the best hope for our nation, and you're ready to help out anyway that you can.  But, where do you start?  What can you do?

Today's episode will be dedicated to an interview with Stewart Collins, a Convention of States volunteer in Florida. Stewart is the epitome of a self-governing individual - in today's language, Stewart "takes initiative" rather than waiting for direction.  I first became aware of Stewart in early 2015 on Facebook; the Convention of States Project began filing legislation in multiple states in a short period of time, and it became very difficult to keep track of which States were filing, which were already in process, and which had already completed the process with his maps - he became known as "Map Guy"!

I realize that with the increaed interest generated from Governor Abbott's surprise endorsement last Friday, this would be a great time for news and phone calls - unfortunately, circumstances are such that I cannot accomodate a podcast for news and phone calls until the end of the month.  At that time we will dedicate at least one episode exclusively to Governor Greg Abbott's inclusion of a call for a Convention of States in the "Texas Plan", the legislative priorities he has for the next session!

In the meantime, please consider hearing from active Convention of States volunteer from Florida.

Mr. Collins will share some of his experiences in Florida, including participation in a mock Convention of States, and the success of seeing a state legislature approve of our Article V resolution..

That Provident Article" is hosted by Convention of States Texas volunteer Paul Hodson, with the Convention of States since late 2013, a District Captain in Texas from February 2014 through November 2015, and now serving as Co-Director for the Convention of States Texas.

Why Russia Will Attack the United States

    in Christianity

On Prophecy Quake tonight @8:00 PM CST, we will look at why Russia will soon attack the United States as the Middle East plunges us in WW3. Prophets have warned the United States for decades that Russia would attack in the last days, but few knew why especially after the Cold War ended. However, circumstances are coming together in the Middle East and the global economy that are pushing Russia to act against the United States and Saudi Arabia. The "Pipeline War" will soon turn in a major global war. This is what the Bible foretold thousands of years ago to the letter. It is time to prepare ourselves for the days ahead. Home Front Convention of the States

    in Politics Conservative

Today on Home Front I bring you a little more of a discussion I had with my friends, Dave Cort and Lloyd Sloan.

Instead if me interviewing them, they are interviewing me on Dave Cort’s show.  We get into the some deeper discussions on the proposal going around this country pertaining to having a convention of the states.

Even though a lot of people are not paying attention to our constitution, most people want to keep it.  There is an idea being peddled in the halls of state capitols trying to have the states open up the constitution for debate.

I am against this because I have seen plenty of shenanigans happen at the state level. It is ridiculous to think that the state legislators are morally superior to the legislators in Washington DC.  Maybe it’s a smaller cesspool, but it’s still a cesspool.

I’m not saying that all the politicians are bad people.  There are some good ones.  It’s just that there are not enough of the good ones to get a good result.

The proof for me was in looking at my own state.  We have a supermajority of Republicans and they are still passing bad laws every year they are in session.

How could we possibly expect a better result if they were in charge of modifying the Constitution?

I don’t want to sit on the sidelines while our Constitution is being altered and then hear people say later, “How could we have been so stupid. “  I don’t want to hear people say “I told you so.”  By then it will be too late.

Let’s just open our eyes and make a proper assessment of what we can do to fix the problems we have by electing better people.
