Welcome back for another episode of The Star Chamber Show! With Imaginarium right around the corner we've invited in a new pair of guests, Authors Joann Buchanan and Tiffini Johnson. Both ladies will be appearing all weekend, but stop on by for a preview of the main event!
About Joann Buchanan:
I think we are like the universes conduits, and all that energy that’s floating around is made up of various stories. We listen, we pluck the stories from the sky, every particle has a tale and every tale a price…I think as writers, we are only telling what is already there.
I’m the mom of five children and have a wonderful husband who supports my passion for the written word. I own a small audiobook company called Empire Voices, we create theatrical audiobooks. Stop off at empirevoices.com for information.
About Tiffini Johnson:
Award-winning author Tiffini Johnson’s love of the written word started early: she wrote her first story at age 8. By the 4th grade, she was reading books aloud to classmates and by high school graduation, she had written over 100 books, many of which were over 2,000 handwritten pages long! Today, she is the author of 7 published books.
Tiffini is the recipient of the prestigious Who’s Who Award and the author of the award-winning, critically acclaimed, “The Character” and “Broken.” A relational activist at heart, Tiffini writes on social issues she is passionate about, including child abuse, the Holocaust and teen suicide. She travels all over the United States, speaking as a RAINN survivor. Her poetry has been prominently featured in multiple anthologies and two of her books are required reading in high schools and college psychology courses.
Host Robin Masiewicz and regulars Jamie and Gloria discuss "The Fun Theory", the theory that the easiest way to change human behavior for the better, is by making it fun to do. This was based on an ad campaign from Volkswagen where they decided to put the theory to the test in three behavioral experiments, the video of which is now posted on YouTube.
The first experiment was to see if more people would take the stairs rather than the escalator if they made it fun to do. The idea was to turn the stairs into a giant piano keyboard, where each stair represented a note. The lower notes were at the bottom of the stairs, and the higher ones on top. People discovered that they could make sounds as they went up or down the stairs.
The result? 66% more people than normal took the stairs over the escalator. Fun can obviously change behavior for the better.
The second experment was to see if they could get more people to throw their rubbish in the bin by making it fun to do. They wired a trash can so that each time you put something in, you heard a sound like a cartoon bomb falling down the world's deepest bin, then a boom when it "hit" the bottom.
The result of this experiment was that they collected 158 pounds of trash (72kg) in the "fun" bin compared to just 68 pounds (31kg) of trash in another bin just a short distance away.
The videos of these experiments went viral, resulting in other people trying to make other common tasks fun. So what do you think? Does novelty and fun help us to do the right thing

This is an exciting week in Louisville, when two very different events arrive in the city that have a lot to offer.
One is a huge one, FandomFest, where thousands and thousands will flock to the Kentucky International Convention Center downtown to see all kinds of tv and movie celebrities, a film festival, all kinds of cosplay, and there's even a book-themed track of panels, directed by a co-host of the Star Chamber Show, Stephen Zimmer!
The other event rolling into the 'Ville this weekend is the 3rd Annual Business of Writing International Summit, which offers a more intimant, workshop-driven atmosphere for authors interested in the business side of the writing world.
This week's show will feature a couple of the founders of these events, live! We will be speaking with author/consultant Peggy DeKay at the beginning of the show about the Business of Writing International Summit. Then, the maverick himself, Ken Daniels of FandomFest will be calling in live to talk about all the fun happening downtown.
We at the Star Chamber Show love to support events both larger and smaller scale, and this show will celebrate an example of each, with both taking place this weekend in Louisville, Kentucky!
Be sure to tune in at 9pm EST on Wednesday to get the full scoop on an exciting weekend just ahead!
Although Mike Wooley has been on many radio shows of late, Lone Star Legends Radio has something special for this show. Mike Wooley has promised to reveal some true mysterious encounters that he has never revealed before. His story began on a cold Saturday in Dec 1981 while hunting, Mike Wooley encountered a Bigfoot. Mike never told a soul for 20 years. After coming forward, his story inspired the making of a Bigfoot movie called Skookum the Hunt for Bigfoot, due to be released soon. Joining us is a very special guest Debi King McMartin who served as cowriter and producer for the movie Skookum the Hunt for Bigfoot. Ms. McMartin served as Production Coordinator for the award-winning documentary film titled Missing, Presumed Dead, produced by Hollywood filmmaker Bill Dumas and narrated by Ed Asner. Sabilla Christine Irwin from San Antiono Tx did the artist rendition of the bigfoot Mike Wooley saw. You can see these renditions in the slide show.

In honesty we need to ask ourselves, how well do we know the difference between these two access points that we use in formulating information into knowledge?
How easy or difficult is it to acquire genuine gnosis or knowingness that is not corrupted by anything, thus, a trustworthy guidance of what we think we know as being what is factually algined with Principle knowing.
What shifts our experiences from a beginner's level of knowing into a masterful knowing that is beyond the lower mind's architecture?
Is theory a stepping stone or a blockage to our growth? What can we do to optimize our mind's functioning to serve our Awakening to Absolute TRUTH and not lose sight of how theory is a flux state that can mislead or guide appropriately?
Join us, Sharon Quinn and Will Gable
