Resort Manager Christine Nelles will offer a virtual tour of the array of experiences that families, couples and business travelers can enjoy. From the Liverpool Football Club Soccer School and Pat Cash Tennis Academy to the Harlequin Performing Arts Academy, and world-class cuisine the resort offers something for everyone.
Our next stop is the island of Bequia, the largest of the Grenadine Islands. Here we’ll introduce Bengt Mortsted, owner of the newly built Bequia Beach Hotel. This boutique hotel is inspired by stylish Mustique villas and situated on the beautiful Friendship Beach. Lush tropical gardens embrace the grounds and provide a luxurious and relaxing experience.
The private island of Palm Island, in the Southern Grenadines, and the Palm Island Resort is our final stop on this tour. World Footprints returns to St. Vincent and travels through the village of Layou on St. Vincent’s Leeward Coast. Layou, which sits against a stunning backdrop of rockscapes and ridges, is filled with historic homes and churches, a small beach and crescent shaped bay. On the ridge above the village you’ll find the Layou Petroglyph Park; the spot where we begin today’s broadcast with our guide Marlon Joseph. From Layou we travel to Argyle, where, in the near fu
We journey to the island of St. Vincent to explore ancient places and the history of a proud people few know anything about. This World Footprints show will journey to the Grenadines and unlock the mysteries of the sea in a way few seldom see or experience.
Our first stop takes us to Bequia (pronounced Beck-way), the largest of the Grenadines. Fresh from a dive at Devils Table with her dive buddy Cathy Sachs of Dive Bequia, Tonya and Cathy will recount their dive and why Bequia offers an unusual diving experience.
Then we’ll visit Bequia’s Park Bay, home to the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary, where a native retired skin-diving fisherman affectionately known as “Brother King”, has spent more than a decade of his life to helping to conserve the endangered hawksbill turtle.
Many of the hatchlings are released into a protective area just south of Bequia called Tobago Cays—our next stop. Lesroy Noel is the Park Ranger for the Tobago Cays Marine Park which lies in the southern Grenadines.
Finally, we’ll travel just a short distance by boat to the private Palm Island where we’ll catch up with the island’s resident artist and (retired) medical professional Dr. Patrick Chevallier. Patrick is one of the world’s premiere undersea artists and his character is as charming and colorful as his artwork.

Bruce Davis, Ph.D. was trained as a psychologist but discovered early that true happiness is not possible without a meaningful spiritual life. Through the years he traveled and lived in many cultures in different parts of the world. But it was in Assisi, Italy, the historic home of Saint Francis and Saint Clare, that he found a peace and inner path which seemed universal in its language and presence.
After years of bringing groups to Assisi, Bruce and his wife, Ruth, decided to live in Assisi. In the spirit of Saint Francis, they created The Assisi Retreat Center with altars to all the world’s major religions. Their center was given an official blessing by Pope John Paul II. The Assisi Retreat Center was listed as one of the top ten meditation retreats in the world by Travel and Leisure Magazine. More recently CNN listed the center again as one of the top ten meditation centers in the world.
After many years of leading retreats, Bruce found the main ingredients for personal transformation included spending time in silence, nature, and heartfulness meditation. The peace and quiet of silence helps people to discover an inner presence in the heart that is lost by many in our busy world. Since creating the Assisi Retreat Center, Bruce and Ruth have started Silent Stay, a retreat center near Napa, California.
Bruce is the author of several books including: The Magical Child Within You, The Heart of Healing, Monastery Without Walls, My Little Flowers, The Calling of Joy, and Simple Peace-The Spiritual Life of St. Francis of Assisi. Bruce is also a frequent contributor to the Huffington Post. For more information about Bruce’s and Ruth’s current activities visit their website at:www.SilentStay.com.
