Staying on St. Vincent and the Grenadines

    in Travel

World Footprints will give you a taste of paradise as we journey to St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG)—a multi-island country of 32 enchanting islands and cays.  Of those islands only nine are inhabited and each offers unique accommodations.  We’ll introduce you to three of our favorite properties today.

Our first stop is Buccament Bay Resort on the island of St. Vincent.  Buccament Bay is a brand new 5 star all-inclusive resort surrounded by lush green mountains, rainforests and a white sand beach.  Resort Manager Christine Nelles will offer a virtual tour of the array of experiences that families, couples and business travelers can enjoy.  From the Liverpool Football Club Soccer School and Pat Cash Tennis Academy to the Harlequin Performing Arts Academy, and world-class cuisine the resort offers something for everyone.

Our next stop is the island of Bequia, the largest of the Grenadine Islands.  Here we’ll introduce Bengt Mortsted, owner of the newly built Bequia Beach Hotel.  This boutique hotel is inspired by stylish Mustique villas and situated on the beautiful Friendship Beach.  Lush tropical gardens embrace the grounds and provide a luxurious and relaxing experience.

The private island of Palm Island, in the Southern Grenadines, and the Palm Island Resort is our final stop on this tour.  The resort is an eco-friendly, all-inclusive, 135-acre resort that is intimate with only 41 guestrooms and two villas.  General Manager Chris Ghita will entice us with a tour of the amenities, activities, dining options and accommodations.

Deepertruth: St. Vincent de Paul Active In Missionary Work

    in Religion

Jesus gave this example, “And he sat down and called the Twelve and he said to them, “If any one would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” And he took a child, and put him in the midst of them; and taking him in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.” (Mark 9:35-37)

Acts Chapter 6 informs us that the Apostles established an order of deacons to help them with the care of the widows. The Church has always needed help to take care of the poor. We do become the Lord’s hands when we do his will, to take care of the needy.

Through the inspiration of St. Vincent de Paul, the founders of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul would come to the United States in 1845 beginning at the Basilica of St. Louis.

This Basilica, commonly called “The Old Cathedral”, was named in honor of St. Louis, King of France.

Father John Timon, a Vincentian priest from Pennsylvania, would establish a local chapter in Louisville Kentucky in 1854 and the Society has never looked back since.

The Society has a broad outreach that has helped untold millions of people all over the world.

They continue to help the poor regardless of background of those needing help.

According to their webpage, it states, “The St Vincent de Paul Society’s members and volunteers reach out to the most vulnerable in our community through our Conferences, Special Works and Vinnies shops. Members and volunteers assist people in need and do not discriminate against cultural, religious or political beliefs.”

    in Books

Suspense Radio One on One takes a twist and comes to you on Monday with a very special guest.  Author Vincent Zandri is a USA Today bestselling author.

His latest book "Everything Burns" will be on the table tonight, along with several of his other books.

    "Everything Burns":

When Reece Johnston was a boy, a fire destroyed his home, killing his mother and brothers while leaving him scarred for life. It also kindled something dark inside him: an irresistible attraction to flames in all their terrifying, tantalizing power. But after two failed arson attempts—and two trips to the mental ward—he was finally able to put down the matches and pick up the pieces.

With a career as a bestselling crime writer going strong, Reece is working to fix his broken marriage to Lisa and be there for their preteen daughter, Anna. He’s not just dealing with his own demons; there’s a world of deadly hurt bearing down on him in the form of the jealous rival he’s bested in literature and love, who’s determined to see Reece crash…and burn. But a guy like Reece knows how to take the heat. And thanks to his lifelong friendship with fire, he also knows how to bring it.

Exploring the history and folklore of St. Vincent

    in Travel

We journey to the island of St. Vincent to explore ancient places and the history of a proud people few know anything about.  Our first stop is to the Botanical Gardens of St. Vincent, the oldest such garden of its type in the Western Hemisphere, and we are joined by historian Dr. Edgar Adams for a look into some of the events and experiences that have defined his life and the history of St. Vincent.

Then we travel to Fort Charlotte where we meet Augustine Sutherland, a decendant of one of St. Vincent's indigeneous ethnic groups, the Garafuna.   Fort Charlotte was built by the British (1793-1806), not to defend against a naval attack but as an inland defense against attacks from the Garafuna, Kalinago and the French.  This in evidenced by the fact that the cannons of Fort Charlotte face inland.  Augustine shares some of the tragic history his ancestors faced here and some of the challenges he faced growing up as a Garafuna on St. Vincent.

God and Your Ego Are One with Psychic-Medium VINCENT GENNA...On-Air Readings!

    in Spirituality

Join Spiritual Intuitive and Consultant, Practical Magic Expert, Human Empowerment Facilitator Certified in Spiritual Psychology; Seminar Author & Facilitator; Awakening Zone Creator and Co-founder; Co-founder and EVP of NLN (N-Light-N) TV/Radio/Media and President and General Manager of NLN Radio, Channel and Host JOE RUMBOLO www.HealingTheUniverse.com as he WELCOMES Psychic-Medium VINCENT GENNA www.VincentGenna.com

Vincent is a triple power Psychic – (1) an authentic and gifted psychic, (2) with the knowledge and experience of a psychotherapist, and (3) the big, charming personality of a showman. He combines his early background as a professional actor and singer, a Masters in Clinical Social Work and his Hospice experience helping more than 500 patients through the dying process, with his uncanny skills as a metaphysician and psychic medium. The sum total of these experiences and gifts is a Psychic who can guide people not only to recognize what is preventing them from healing or attaining their dreams, but the necessary steps to get there.

Much more than a parlor room performer entertaining the audience with messages from the other side, Genna is a results-oriented Psychic who tunes into an individual on their soul, angelic and higher self levels for guiding messages. He is then able to decipher where one is blocking themselves from their connection to their higher self or the Divine, removes those blockages so one can experience this connection, and in the process help the person to heal the corresponding illness, disturbance or imbalance. He also has the remarkable ability to instill strong self-belief, and inspire one to recognize and apply their Divine talents to fulfill their dreams, and create a happy and rewarding life.

During the show, Vincent has kindly agreed to do some on-air mini readings, so call in, have your questions ready.
