There are more than 200 different types of cancer and it can develop in any of 60 different organs within the body. There are three main types of mesothelioma; a rare cancer of the protective lining that covers many of the internal organs of the body. It's most commonly caused by exposure to asbestos.
During her childhood Heather von St. James did what many little girls do. She wore her daddy's jacket around the house when he came home from work -- never suspecting there was harm coming to her via that playful act.
In November 2005 at the age of 36, just three months after celebrating the birth of her daughter, she was diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma. The delicately risky surgery to save her life took her more than 1400 miles away from the life she'd just brought into the world. The surgery performed at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital consisted of removing the lining of the lung, an entire lung, half of her diaphragm, the lining of her heart and her sixth rib. That marked the beginning of her journey to survive and her battle with what she calls "scanxiety." Motherhood and marriage interspersed with doses of humor and faith have strengthened her when anxiety and the fear of recurrence hit home.
She's now celebrating her 8th year as a survivor. Her mission in life is to help others with mesothelioma around the globe. Her stories of awareness and hope appear in places like The Huffington Post, Moms N' Charge, Everyday Health, interviews and hope-filled awareness blogs. When she's not busy speaking, advocating, and inspiring others, she's spends her time with husband/best-friend Cameron, volunteering at her daughter's school, planting flowers, and enjoying all things whimsical. Meet Heather von St. James - A Case for Hope!

World Footprints travels to the island of St. Vincent to explore ancient places and the history of a proud people few know anything about. Our first stop is to the Botanical Gardens of St. Vincent, the oldest such garden of its type in the Western Hemisphere, and we are joined by historian Dr. Edgar Adams for a look into some of the events and experiences that have defined his life and the history of St. Vincent.
Then we travel to Fort Charlotte where we meet Augustine Sutherland, a decendant of one of St. Vincent's indigeneous ethnic groups, the Garafuna. Fort Charlotte was built by the British (1793-1806), not to defend against a naval attack but as an inland defense against attacks from the Garafuna, Kalinago and the French. This in evidenced by the fact that the cannons of Fort Charlotte face inland. Augustine shares some of the tragic history his ancestors faced here and some of the challenges he faced growing up as a Garafuna on St. Vincent.

"Once upon a time I, like most people in this world, believed that I had a name and that this name was my identity. I believed that money had intrinsic value and I believed that if I had enough of it I could positively affect the world. I believed that everyone ought to pay their taxes for the greater good. I believed that statute was law, and that those laws were there for the benefit of all. I believed that the health service would fix my ills, that the education system would impart knowledge, and that the police force would help me in my hour of need. I believed that war could be just, that the news told the truth, and that there really was a free market economy. But most of all I believed that I was a free man." - Greg Paul
Many of us are now discovering that most, if not all of the beliefs which have comprised our reality framework are false. And we are faced with a simple choice; to pretend that we are not the problem, or to quit feeding the beast and become the solution. A solution that requires nothing more of us than to embrace our sovereign birthright and to act in each moment according to our conscience.
The ‘system’ to which we have sanctioned is predicated on fear and conflict, and the only way to rise above its perceived control, is to cease to identify with that which it controls.
But how does one attain the peace of mind necessary to accomplish this seemingly impossible feat? What practical steps ought one take to alter the way one is viewed by a system which seeks to limit this evolution? How does one break the chains which seek to bind?
Join Brendan D Murphy, Aimee Devlin, and Greg Paul, from New Earth Nation in this episode of Global Freedom Movement Radio, as the road to sovereignty by peaceful inhabitance is unravelled.
Summer of Scandals and WAR! One hot mess after another splattered on your TV to keep you from thinking clearly as the next war is planned.
Rick Perry is the current RINO point-man to crush the libertarianish conservative grassroots rebels. The GOP spends more time, money and vigor attacking conservatives than gearing up to defeat Democrats or checking an Imperial President.
In the ongoing GOP ‘civil war’ the establishment corner keeps changing their pugilist, but the grassroots corner seems to have only one man standing and fighting round after round against new, fresh squishes. Rand Paul is the lead man for the truly conservative, sensible and Constitutional movement rising once again in America. It seems futile, it is certainly difficult and the establishment has never been more established and powerful, but they are also, as always weak.
Will we allow the Neocon War Party to win the propaganda war so they can launch more wars? Or do we stand with Rand and fight on principle for the restoration of liberty, sanity, prudence, prosperity, strength and virtue? This is not the first salvo and it won’t be the last sortie. Stand united behind the banner of the Constitution; or remain divided and watch American fade with a whimper. Choose wisely, don’t delay.
Tyranny is assured UNLESS liberty-loving people band together against the rising tide of collectivism. Grassroots conservatives MUST work together to ensure the restoration of constitutionally limited government–it is up to you. End the imperialist police state and to defeat the Democrat-Socialists, first you MUST CRUSH the RINOs, for liberty!
