St. Vincent was born of poor parents in the village of Pouy in Gascony, France, about 1580. He enjoyed his first schooling under the Franciscan Fathers at Acqs. Such had been his progress in four years that a gentleman chose him as subpreceptor to his children, and he was thus enabled to continue his studies without being a burden to his parents. In 1596, he went to the University of Toulouse for theological studies, and there he was ordained priest in 1600.
In 1605, on a voyage by sea from Marseilles to Narbonne, he fell into the hands of African pirates and was carried as a slave to Tunis. His captivity lasted about two years, until Divine Providence enabled him to effect his escape. After a brief visit to Rome he returned to France, where he became preceptor in the family of Emmanuel de Gondy, Count of Goigny, and General of the galleys of France. In 1617, he began to preach missions, and in 1625, he lay the foundations of a congregation which afterward became the Congregation of the Mission or Lazarists, so named on account of the Prioryof St. Lazarus, which the Fathers began to occupy in 1633.
It would be impossible to enumerate all the works of this servant of God. Charity was his predominant virtue. It extended to all classes of persons, from forsaken childhood to old age. The Sisters of Charity also owe the foundation of their congregation to St. Vincent. In the midst of the most distracting occupations his soul was always intimately united with God. Though honored by the great ones of the world, he remained deeply rooted in humility. The Apostle of Charity, the immortal Vincent de Paul, breathed his last in Paris at the age of eighty. His feast day is September 27th.

Pastor Lyons doesn’t describe himself as a Follower of the Way – he still calls himself a Christian, but that’s what he is, a Talmidi Godfearer.

Hot Tub Therapy For Back Pain
Whether discomfort is due to a chronic condition or is only temporary, easing pain is priority one. Here’s some information about hot tub therapy and how a quick dip may be the solution.
Hydrotherapy is Unique
Heat, massage and buoyancy, also called hydrotherapy, work together to relax sore, overworked muscles and joints. It’s the perfect combination for relieving back pain in a safe, comfortable and convenient way.
Eliminate Tension in the Back
Reducing excess stress and tension in the back is one of the fastest ways to eliminate pain. With targeted jets designed to hit a variety of areas on the body at once, a soothing soak in the hot tub eliminates tension, kneading away deep knots.
Stretch, Soothe and Relax
Using a hot tub to stretch and lengthen muscles in the back is easy and convenient. Heat loosens tight muscles, increasing flexibility and range of motion while massage relieves stiffness, making movement freer.

Welcome to today's show as we continue our study of the life of the apostle Paul. Paul's story intersects with the life of the disciple Stephen. Paul, one of the greatest of Christ's followers, persecuted the early believers. Paul discovers that no sin is beyond Christ's power of forgiveness after he participated in the stoning of Stephen. Stephen has set the bar very high for living for Christ in a world that does not understand or care about the faith and commitments of a follower of Jesus. Join us for a look at persecution.

"REASON TO LOVE"
Paul Kostick is a singer-songwriter based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After performing everything from punk rock to sacred music, Paul found his niche in acoustic pop. Pairing straightforward lyrics with guitar-driven tracks, he aims to create music that serves as an honest soundtrack for real life, ventures into dark places, but ultimately rediscovers hope.
Since his debut in public performance at the age of fourteen, Paul’s ease in front of an audience is evident. The solo artist gained initial recognition after the release of his first EP, Corners, in August of 2012.
His single “Reason to Love” is inspired by the belief that real, true love exists and is worth pursuing. It poses the question, “Why do we love?” or more exactly, “Why don’t we love? What would happen if we all ‘gave love’?”
