Cardinals vs. Chiefs Week 14 preview: A visit from Arrowhead Pride

    in Sports

The Arizona Cardinals return home after a two-game swing on the road that resulted in a pair of disappointing...and embarrassing losses. This week's opponents are the 7-5 Kansas City Chiefs, a team that is desperate to keep up in the AFC West and AFC playoff picture.

To preview the Week 14 matchup, Arrowhead Pride's Matt Verderame joins Jess on the show to talk about Kansas City and the season they have had. Their offseason will come up, the play of the defense, their draft, Alex Smith, Jamaal Charles and the strange fact they have yet to have a touchdown pass to a wide receiver in 2014.

Arizona Cardinals Week 13 review: What has happened?

    in Sports

The Arizona Cardinals lost for the second week in a row, falling to 9-3 after a 29-18 loss to the Atlanta Falcons...the previously 4-7 Falcons. Needless to say, things are starting to feel uncomfortable in the desert. They have lost two straight games and have looked bad doing so.

They also suffered a number of key injuries. Seth and Jess talk about the significance of these injuries and if Arizona has just had too many.

Seth and Jess also talk about the bad and the bright spots from the game. They look ahead at the Cardinals' playoff chances and what what, if any, changes need to happen.

Arizona Cardinals Week 14 review: A win over KC, injuries and a short week

    in Sports

The Arizona Cardinals got the ship right, at least for a week, when they got a 17-14 come-from-behind win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. They got a key contribution from running back Kerwynn Williams and big plays from Alex Okafor, Jaron Brown and Deone Bucannon, with an assist on a replay.

On the show, Jess and Seth talk about the good and the bad from the game, discuss the play of Jonathan Cooper, who got his first NFL start and also debate whether Williams is the answer to the running game the rest of the way. They look at the road ahead and the possibilities of the postseason after getting to 10 wins. They also talk about the upcoming game on Thursday against the Rams.

    St. Fidelis

    in Religion

Rebroadcast of the long running radio program, "The Ave Maria Hour", a presentation of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. www.AtonementFriars.org

St. Fidelis - A former lawyer who left his profession to become a Capuchin Franciscan priest, Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen has his liturgical memorial on April 24.

Leaving his legal practice behind, Mark decided to give his life directly to the service of Christ and the Church. In short order he received ordination as a priest, and joined the Capuchin Franciscans in Freiburg.

During 1614 a Swiss Catholic bishop had sought help from the Capuchins, to restore the faith and counteract the spread of Calvinist Protestantism. In 1621, Fidelis was sent on the mission. He brought just four items: a Bible, a prayer book, a crucifix and a copy of the Capuchin rule.

The winter of 1621-22 was a busy period of preaching, instruction and theological disputation for the Franciscan priest. He preached not only in the pulpits of Catholic churches, but also in public places, and even in the meeting-places of the Calvinists themselves. Some Swiss Protestants responded with hostility, but many others were also brought back to the Church.

Like many cases of religious persecution during this time, Fidelis’ treatment at the hands of the Calvinists did not stem exclusively from doctrinal disagreement. National and cultural tensions also contributed, with many Swiss Protestants suspecting that the Catholic mission was part of an Austrian plot against their nation.

Fidelis' life bridged the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, a time of religious conflict in Western Europe. He died at the hands of a mob while preaching in Switzerland, where he had gone to combat the Calvinist heresy.

Mike Snyder and I offer sound energy healing sessions through the my music.  Here is a little bit of information about myself and how I came into using music to help heal and relax people.  I have been a student of Metaphysics for most of my life.   I have been playing the piano since I was 8 years old but always refused to take music lessons. I always wanted to play it the way it came to me intuitively and thats what I’ve been doing ever since! I have always played my music to relax and heal myself until about 10 years ago I realized the power that was in it.
