Jennifer Lav is a lawyer at University Legal Services, Protection & Advocacy Program, representing D.C. residents with psychiatric disabilities. Protection & Advocacy programs are organizations that provide free legal services to individuals with disabilities. After law school, Jennifer clerked for Judge Myron H. Thompson in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Alabama, in Montgomery Alabama. She stayed in Alabama for two more years, teaching a law school class, and working at Alabama's Protection & Advocacy Program, representing youth in special education and juvenile justice matters before returning to practice in Washington DC
