CUBANOS IN WISCONSIN BY SILVIO CANTO JR
For the 23rd straight season, the Detroit Red Wings have clinched a Stanley Cup playoff berth. But they finish 8th place in the Eastern Conference standings and thus with the second seed of the Wild Card. Their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals opponent is the President's-Trophy-Champion Boston Bruins. The Wings have won the season series with the B's 3-1-0 by winning their last 3 meetings. But regardless of that season series record, most hockey fans, including some Red Wings fans, think the Bruins will win the first round. The majority of those who think Boston will win that round in fact, think it'll finish in a sweep. They must have underestimated the speed and skill of the youngers players that play for this Red Wings team.
