Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights Helen Hipp of WithinU Life Coaching

    in Self Help

Jericho, VT – It can be stressful having a child with special needs – it’s stressful to be a parent in general – but it can also be wonderful experience as well.

Helen Hipp is a psychotherapist and life coach and the founder of WithinU Life Coaching, where she works with adults with special needs and their families by opening their minds to abilities, capabilities and alternate possibilities.

“Their challenges are achievements waiting to be faced,” says Helen. “My belief is we all have special needs. My job is to give life to their thoughts with action steps that inspire. Many people view special needs from a perspective of hardship, but my son Raymond has taught me a lot through his courage and determination. It’s just a wonderful gift he’s given me.”

Helen’s son Raymond, now 29, was given the diagnosis of Asperger’s as a child. In 2013, Helen published A Different Kind of Safari, a children’s book about celebrating differences and encouraging one’s potential. A Different Kind of Safari puts into words the essence of Helen’s teachings and beliefs, epitomizing her goal to have a positive impact on someone else’s life by helping them find their own answers.

Helen and her family went on an African safari back in 2001. During the trip, they came upon a pod of hippopotamuses. Standing on the outside of the pod was a pink hippo that Raymond named “Rosie.” The tour guide explained that Rosie was standing on the outside because she was tolerated but not necessarily accepted by the pod because of her differences. Of course Raymond could understand that experience.

Says Helen: “It’s an empowering story. It’s got a wonderful, universal message that everyone can relate to and it’s fun, too!”

Close-Up Talk Radio welcomes back Denise Holloway of Life UnLtd!

    in Self Help

Cumming, GA – There are few times more stressful for a family than when a child is preparing to apply to college. For the teen, the decision is fraught with anxiety: What is college? What am I going there for? What am I trying to accomplish while I’m there? It’s easy for a 16-year-old to feel overwhelmed by the prospect of making a decision that’s going to determine the course of the rest of their life.

Denise Holloway is a Certified Professional Coach and the founder of Life UnLtd!, a coaching practice that specializes in teens and parents of teens, taking them from fear and frustration to joy and appreciation.

“I have huge empathy for teenagers,” says Denise. “It’s a really pivotal time in their lives but it doesn’t have to be so difficult. I’m here to make it a little easier for them. I think it’s really needed.”

Denise says parents can make a tremendous difference just by being more open and being able to listen without judging. They can improve their teen’s lives by showing them the love they feel for them rather than getting tied up in their own fear. Parents can make a powerful impact by changing how they deal with their teenager.

“To be delayed at the beginning can be a terrifying thought but that’s a perception. Who are you racing against?” says Denise. “The decision your child makes can feel like a point of no return, but there’s nothing wrong with a wrong turn.”

Denise provides teens with a framework for how to make decisions the rest of their life.

“We’re creating our world all the time, we’re just not doing it consciously,” says Denise. “When teens realize they have choice and they’re making these choices, they can start to take responsibility for themselves and their decisions.”

Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights Certified Life Coach Cynthia Miller

    in Motivation

San Luis Obispo, CA -- Certified Life Coach Cynthia Miller has been on a personal growth journey her entire adult life. Today she works with individuals in the areas of divorce recovery, post-weight loss and entrepreneurial endeavors. In addition, she is starting an exciting new endeavor: working with curvy women as they find their confidence and style.

“I have really been a coach my whole life,” says Cynthia. “People have always come to me for insight and I’ve always seemed to be able to reveal to them those ideas they hadn’t thought about before. In living my new life I’m showing my clients that they can create a new life as well."

The wonderful difference between coaching and counseling is that, in coaching, the client determines the agenda and the action steps toward growth. Cynthia is simply there to hold her clients accountable while unpacking their self-limiting beliefs. Cynthia herself struggled with body image for many years, eventually electing to undergo a gastric bypass procedure 15 years ago.

“Eating is emotional,” explains Cynthia. “Those dynamics don’t go away just because your stomach has been shrunk. So we have to sneak through the back door with self-love. We will backslide but that self-love will keep us moving forward.”

You know the curvy woman who is overly concerned with what others think of her? With Cynthia they will find not only their courage and confidence but also their sense of style and personal beauty so they can create an image that attracts great things into their life.

“Coaching is about inner transformation. With each small decision I was able to create a life I never would have allowed myself to dream,” says Cynthia. “I want my clients to believe that they are enough right now and have dreams to be better.”

Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights personal empowerment life coach Beth Koehler

    in Motivation

Saco, ME – Awareness of the Law of Attraction has reached a fever pitch since the 2006 release of Rhonda Byrne’s best-selling self-help guide The Secret. But what is the Law of Attraction? And how can we use it to improve our lives?

According to personal empowerment life coach Beth Koehler, the simplest explanation of the Law of Attraction is that we attract the energy we project, so what you focus on, you get more of. If we’re joyful we will attract joyful people and circumstances.

“The law of attraction is always turned on, like the law of gravity. Why not learn to use it to your benefit?” says Koehler.

Koehler incorporates the principles behind the Law of Attraction philosophy in her personal coaching sessions, where she works primarily with women 40-70, empowering them to align with their heart’s desire.

“As a coach I have the ability to step back from the center of their lives,” says Koehler. “I help them realize the ways in which they may have manifested their own struggle. If they have the power to manifest their struggle, they can manifest joy as well.”

Koehler says the hardest thing for a coach to hear is “Yes, but…” because it means they’re blocking themselves in some way energetically. They know there’s something that needs to shift. All it requires is an openness and willingness to allow change. If you allow help and support from avenues you’ve never considered, you’ve just opened the floodgates of change. That’s the Law of Attraction at work.

Says Koehler: “I love to witness my client’s growth and see them become empowered and confident and strong enough to start making different choices in their life, better choices in their life."
