There is one episode a year that is not focusing on the recent past or what can come in the future. This episode of Lugnuts and Horsepower is all about history, because it's all about the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Bill Elliott, Fred Lorenzen, Wendell Scott, Joe Weatherly, and Rex White all took their rightful spot in immortality this past week, signifying their place in NASCAR, and what they meant to the sport.
Patti Rodisch and Dustin Parks will go through the list and talk in depth about how each impacted the sport, both on the track and beyond it.
They will also look ahead at potential new Hall of Fame inductees later this year, and what stars of today could be going in sooner rather than later.
It's a 6:30 p.m. start time for the east coast, with 5:30 p.m. in the central zone.
Adam Tate and Joey Barnes of Tribute Racing, Christopher DeHarde of Motorsport.com, Josh Farmer of Motorsport Monday talk all the latest in racing. We look at that and preview the Budweiser Duels, and are prepared to give you our picks for who wins the 57th annual Daytona 500.
The Frat House Sports Gang flips the switch again this week on the 180th Frat House Sports Show welcoming in a new season of NASCAR . . . so if you’re an auto racing fan you better be ready to get on the line.
The “Speedweeks” leading to the season-opening Daytona 500 have been filled with controversy . . . and drama – Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick squaring off after the “Unlimited” exhibition – the ridiculousness and “crap” as Clint Bowyer described qualifying – Princess Danica having to racing-in to even make NASCAR’s “Super Bowl.”
We heap more gas on the flames with our guest, Chuck Ellison of SaveStockCarRacing.com who has some provocative, but growing, sentiments about the NASCAR product; Brian France; the future of the sport and how to fix it; and, the personalities that surround it. THIS is a fan with some passion and strong opinions guaranteed to rock you off your seat and to the phone!
Meanwhile over in MLB, Biogensis “drug-lord” Tony Bosch is heading to jail while his #1 client on speed-dial, Alex Rodriguez hand-writes a tearful apology to everyone in the entire world and Pete Rose sits in the dugout waiting for an audience with the Pope . . . oh, and you got to know we can’t step too far away from the NFL!

The front row is set, but many drivers are unhappy. With the Budweiser Duels looming to set the entire field for the Daytona 500, Dustin Parks and Patti Rodisch are ready to look back at the first weekend of Speedweeks in Daytona, while looking ahead to four consecutive days of on-track action.
Qualifying may have set the front row, but drivers were not happy with the new group format. Did it work, or did it just create more chaos? Matt Kenseth got his first victory in over a season, even though it was a non-points race, it gives him a lot of momentum heading into the big race. Is he even more of a favorite now?
These questions will get answered, along with a look ahead to the first races of the year for the Camping World Truck Series and the debut race in the newly re-named Xfinity Series.
Tune in at 6:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. CT.

Talk about an incredible week for NASCAR. The Daytona 500 seemed like it would be a ho-hum kind of event, but instead a rain delay turned out to be something the sport needed.
